Wolverine: Past Lives is the first Phase Nine Marvelette Cinematic Universe film. It was released on April 14th, 2034, following Avengers vs X-Men and preceding Thor: War of the Realms. The film is directed by Matt and Ross Duffer.

Plot[]

Consumed with guilt after he was forced to kill Jean Grey to save the world, Wolverine exiles himself, only to be constantly bothered by Gambit with offers to get back in the game. He would eventually be dragged into a scheme after discovering an offshoot of Weapon X has been harvesting his DNA to breed Wolverine clones.

Trivia[]

  • Both of Wolverine's children, X-23 and Daken, make their debut in this film.
  • Jean Grey appears purely as a figment of Wolverine's guilt.
  • Gambit originally was not supposed to appear in this film, but Keanu Reeves expressed a desire to return as Gambit, and was written into the second draft of the script as Wolverine's partner.
  • Lizzy Caplan makes her MCU debut in this film after previously being considered to play Jean Grey.
