History

Quote1 The universe was supposed to be mine for the taking... not that creature's. Doom will not stand for such insurrection from the fates... all will pay. Quote2
-- Doom

Victor von Doom left Latveria in shame following his mother being burned at the stake for supposedly being a witch. Venturing to America, we went on to attend MIT alongside Reed Richards, whom he could not stand.

Victor would later attempt to build a device that would allow him to converse with his mother in the netherworld, but it exploded, scarring Doom's entire body. Once again leaving in disgrace, Doom traveled to Tibet, where he mastered the Dark Arts.

Using his new abilities to conquer his home nation of Latveria, he went on to become enemies with the Avengers and the Fantastic Four.

But his newfound arrogance did not last long, as Thanos soon took control of the universe, kicking Doom out of his home country once more and giving it to Ultron.

Doom decided it was time to leave planet Earth, becoming a scourge on the galaxy, undermining Thanos at every turn, and often coming into conflict with the Guardians of the Galaxy, and their new leader, Reed Richards.
