Early Years[]
Victor Werner Von Doom (born April, 1976) was the only child and son of successful doctor, industrialist, and founder of Von Doom Industries, Werner Von Doom, and his wife Cynthia Von Doom. The latter a former sorceress and member of a Romani tribe known as the Zefiro Clan. Who had been natives to Latveria for generations.
As a child Victor already began displaying the intelligence he would come to be known for in the future. Which his parent's worked to nurture as best they could, in particular his father who always pushed Victor far past his limits. The young Doom learning on his tenth birthday why his father was always so harsh with him. For it was because that his father's side of the family, whose true name was Van Damme, were direct descendants of Vlad Tepes Dracula, also known as Vlad The Impaler who for centuries had been persecuted and discriminated against all across Europe. Until Victor's ancestor Ziegfred, who managed to become a nobleman, changed their name from Van Damme to Von Doom, but made sure the true family history was never forgotten. After learning about these things from his father Victor never complained again, and worked even harder than before. Since now he knew his father was only so harsh on him because he wanted him to be able to survive in the world. The same was also similarly true in regards to Victor's mother, whose Zefiro Clan had also been persecuted for generations. Especially by the ruling family of Latveria, the Fortunov's. To that end Cynthia taught Victor the basis and basics of magic so he could protect himself. A thing the young Victor took too quickly, and also found himself loving to learn about. Just as much as he did science from his father.
However those happy days Victor spent with his parents eventually came to an end. When the ruling king of Latveria at the time, Vladimir Fortunov, became even more ruthless in his persecution of the local gypsy clans and one day sent his soldiers after them. In response to this Cynthia used a powerful spell to kill every single soldier and give the clans enough time to flee, but in doing so it cost her her life. Angered by this Werner used the resources of his company to attempt to get rid of the king and his family. Only to be betrayed in the end and executed for the crime of treason by the very people he wanted dead. Leaving young Victor parentless, and now with a deep-seated hatred for the Latverian government and monarchy.
Studying In America[]
Quietly swearing to get his revenge Victor began preparing, now in the care of his parents' long-time friend and his honorary uncle, Boris Karela. Though while furthering his studies Victor came to the attention of the American government, who offered him a chance to work at the government-sponsored think-tank known as the Baxter Building. A chance Victor decided to take, since it would give him even more connections to the outside world. So with that he headed for America and began working at the Baxter Building. Where he soon found himself enamored and then dating the daughter of the think-tank's supervisor, Franklin Storm, Susan Storm. Though she eventually broke up with Victor. Which hurt him just as bad as when his childhood crush, Boris' granddaughter, Valeria Karela rejected his advances. But in time Victor came to terms with it, and instead focused back on his original goal of getting revenge. Until he found himself involved with a teleportation project conceived by fellow Baxter Building employee, and fellow genius, Reed Richards.
