History
Being an Avenger isn't about where you've come from... it's about who you are in spite of that.

Va Nee Gast is the only child to ever be born to an Elder of the Universe. Her father, the Grandmaster, was manipulative enough to lead Va Nee into believing that he genuinely loved her. This is why she accepted her fate when he forced her to participate in the Contest of Champions so that she could prove herself worthy of being his daughter.
After winning the Contest, she became the Voyager and sent across the galaxy to recruit contenders. When she discovered the heroes of Earth, her father became enamored with them and forced her to recruit the ones he saw as the most exciting. Knowing they would never go with her willingly, she was forced to teleport them across the galaxy to Sakaar.
Voyager sat by and winced as she watched the heroes put through endless agony in the Contest, becoming horrified by the sheer pleasure her father took out of it. After a conversation with the contender Captain Marvel, Voyager realized how foolish she had been, and helped the abducted heroes rebel against her father. Feeling she had no home and no family left, she was invited back to Earth by Captain Marvel. When met with the rest of the Avengers, they were hesitant to accept the Grandmaster's daughter as one of them, but Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, and Vision all stood up for her, reminding the Avengers they all came from shady backgrounds as well. From then on, she became a member of the Avengers and dedicated her life to making up for the sins she committed while in service to her father.
