Event Synopsis

Prelude

Leading up to the now infamous and significant worldwide conflict, there have been several major factors (starting from the surprising Hydra Uprising, Ultron Offensive, Mutant War in Sokovia, Armor Wars, and ending to the Nimrod Invasion) which caused the intense battle to begin with, although most of their point of origin has always rooted from the secret fundamental empirical society known as the Movement Alliance, an organization that was fully established as it was solely the brainchild of the one and only Johann Schmidt, the historical villain that was the Red Skull, who, along with Captain America, had miraculously survived his unexpected fate nearing the end of the Second World War and was able to make it out alive throughout the modern era of the 21st Century. Unbeknownst to anyone's awareness besides a few selected operatives, Hydra actually survived its supposed endgame with its true leader and founder, the Red Skull himself, who was later revealed to have been the mastermind secretly running the organization ever since he resurfaced back into modern day.

Along with Schmidt himself, the Movement was also indirectly, "spiritually" founded by another diabolical figure who was Nathaniel Essex, the seemingly immortal and genius mutate geneticist, idealist, & revolutionist (usually declaring himself as a "mutant" to fool the public, due to his frequent involvements with and against the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants) often going by his infamous epithet of Mister Sinister. Followed by Sinister as the second founder and leader of the Movement Alliance, comes the third leader who was thought to be Norman Osborn, the infamous and monstrous Green Goblin.

In reality, however, Osborn had his own agendas (mainly leading the Sinister Seven against Spider-Man and the Avengers) and was merely an appointed associate to a more influential and powerful figure, especially when it comes to a political and economical standpoint in the state of New York, considering that he is one of the few people who loves New York more than any other person there was throughout its history. That figure would later be revealed to be none other than the Kingpin of Crime himself, Wilson Fisk, who secretly played the role as the third main commander of the Movement, with his base of operations mostly taking place in the heart of the state. As a powerful triumvirate, Schmidt, Essex, & Fisk became the "supreme leaders" of the Movement Alliance.

Thanks to the influences of three leaders, most especially Sinister, their first main moves were offering an alliance with several terrorist organizations they've worked with throughout their lives, including the all-powerful and all-superior Hydra, A.I.M., the Ten Rings, the Liberators, Sinister Seven, Loki and his Asgardian and Frost Giant allies (the Tricksters of Asgard), and with the help of his alliance, they even manage to communicate with an extraterrestrial race known as the Skrulls, and manages to convince them to help each other unleashed chaos and destruction on Earth, during the upcoming assault, and establish a new world order shaped by their will.

Battles

Ultimates Earth-61615

The Ultimates officially assembles for the first time, fighting back against the overly diabolical Movement Alliance during the most intense moments of Ultimate War

As their contingency plan commenced, the Movement Alliance finally conducted a series of massive terrorist attacks all over the world destroying the Brooklyn Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, and even the Great Wall of China, killing over 1,500 people on the very first day. Consequently, all the Movement's opposing adversaries, the heroes, were united into creating their own Ultimate Alliance, in order to stop and prevent the Movement from commencing its schemes upon world domination and sovereignty, before its too late. As the attacks all over the world have continued for days and then weeks, more and more casualties are sadly, starting to increase in numbers, due to the extreme terrorism and serious devastation, continuously committed by the conflict between the Movement Alliance and its seemingly unstoppable forces against the combined forces heroes and anti-heroes of the world, the Ultimate Alliance, who are not stopping their fight against the villains until they find a way to make them pay for their irreversible actions and restore back peace in the entire world. Thus, in the wake of this impactful response to battle the diabolical forces of the Movement, the Great, Global Superhuman War, also dubbed as the Ultimate War, suddenly sparked across threatened nations and slowly began worldwide.

Fight for Attilan

Former S.H.I.E.L.D. director and current high-ranking agent Phil Coulson, managed to get himself and his dedicated team onto the city of Attilan, within the darkest surface of the Moon, through the mysterious Inhuman only known as Maximus the Mad, who decided to ran away from their captivity in order to warn the rest of his family about the incoming threat of the Skrull Empire, whose several ships have purposely landed on the surface of the Moon to find the Inhumans of the city so they could either capture, or exterminate them. After meeting with the royal family that was the House of Agon, S.H.I.E.L.D. offered them their help in ceasing the incoming approach of the Skrulls from destroying the city of Attilan, to which they hesitated on agreeing at first due to their historical relationship with humanity, before they were able to be convinced by S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and fellow Inhuman, Daisy Johnson (going by the heroic codename of Quake), believing that S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intentions are to truly help their kind, not threaten them into extinction.

Skrulls Attack Latveria

Some of the Skrull spacecrafts somehow found its way onto Earth, crashing into several locations all around the world, most notably the Kingdom of Latveria and the Kingdom of Wakanda, as Victor von Doom has truly suspected and predicted for it to actually happen. However, most of them were unfortunate on their ships' crash landing, having most of the Skrulls to perish as they have roughly crash landed into rocky terrains and fathomable oceans where no one gets back from. Nevertheless, those who did survive did proceed with their true intentions of exterminating and decimating Earth's entire race and life by replacing them with their own kind, who they have mistakenly taken as a rival species, daring to challenge them in becoming the far more superior species in the entire universe. After having to immediately know about their impending arrival on Earth, the Fantastic Four and even the Black Panther, Namor, and the Mole Man, has finally decided to help Doom in preventing another alien invasion from the hands of the conquest goals of the intergalactic Skrull Empire. The main battle against the Skrulls mostly took place in Latveria, although some of the skirmishes would also involve in the Seven Seas, mostly in Atlantis and Lemuria, the Kingdom of Subterranea, the Mole Man's established domain, and Kingdom of Wakanda, the Black Panther's great home.

Syndicates Takeover

Fisk Kingpin 61615

Kingpin, the secret and third supreme leader of the Movement Alliance

The street-based vigilante team known as the Defenders have come off to face the very notorious and dangerous Crime Syndicate of New York, a large gang consisting the state's deadliest and malevolent criminals, led by the Kingpin (the real mastermind who first appointed Norman Osborn to be the temporary masquerader or the face of the third Movement leader, before eventually revealing his true role), along with several terrorist organizations such as A.I.M. and the Ten Rings. In the end of the state-wide conflict, the heroes had become triumphant and victorious against the syndicate, but at the cost of many innocent lives, most notably Daredevil's ex-fiancée and love interest, Karen Page, who died at the hands of the Guardian Devil's most twisted and sadistic foe, Bullseye.

Wrath of the Asgardians

After faking his own death, Loki grimly revealed himself to his adoptive brother Thor, having survived the events of the Second Dark Elf Conflict, somehow finding his way on to Earth once again. He allied himself with the Enchantress and her Executioner, he also had Lorelei, Amora's sister freed from captivity on Asgard so she could join their cause on invading Earth, forming the rogue Asgardian alliance known as the Tricksters of Asgard, and have his revenge on his brother when the time has come, along with every other super-villains, eventually joining the Movement's Alliance in the process.

During the great war between Earth's mightiest superhumans, the rogue Asgardians led by Loki unleashed hell in the shores of Europe through the usage of the Norn Stones, starting in the small cities of Norway as the would spread throughout the latter's neighboring countries. With it, the attacks of the Movement became even more efficient due of sleeper agents of Hydra, and other terrorist groups. However, due to the persistent of the Ultimate Alliance, the loyal and inspired heroes of Europe were also able to counteract their threatening presences, and with a little assistance from S.H.I.E.L.D.'s super-soldiered operatives, they were able to and end the ensuing chaos on Europe victoriously.

Should the European faction of the Movement beginning to fail in strength and numbers, the Asgardian armies of Loki began to retreat and surrender to Thor, All-Father Odin, & the Einherjar on their own, back on the realm of Asgard. However, unbeknownst to most of the nations in the western areas, the wrath of the Asgardians continued in the form of Ragnarok, the malevolent cyborg clone of Thor created by Hydra, who attacked several countries in Asia, including the Philippines, savagely massacring several civilians and authorities in Plaza de Roma, right until help came through, which weakened Ragnarok, which forced him to try and retreat back in the United States, only to be ambushed by the real God of Thunder along with the assistance of the Incredible Hulk, who angrily ripped his own clone into pieces, finally killing him and avenging the hundreds of lives he had taken.

The War for Sinister

During the final moments of the battle against Mister Sinister, the latter's faction and his separated Brotherhood were confronted by the X-Men and Magneto's Brotherhood in his own fortress in Sokovia, in order to finally end his reign of terror. The battle lasted for hours, with Sinister and his subordinates killing several heroes and anti-heroes who opposes him until he was the only one left standing after his allies were either killed, escaped the war-zone, or were saved from his coercion.

Somehow, Sinister still manages to escape Sokovia again until he was found by the brave and bold Archangel and a few mutants to stop him from retreating. Sinister outmatches his enemies after absorbing all of their powers and killing them, until Archangel battles him to save his son, Angel. He almost defeated Nathan, until they crashed into a thermal power station, critically injuring both of them. Warren (Archangel) was starting to recover to his regenerative healing factor, until a disfigured Sinister suddenly lunges at Warren and absorbs all of his powers, draining him including all of his healing factor, causing for Warren to slowly die from his injuries. Shortly after Warren's death, Sinister suddenly vanishes after leaving the scene.

In the end he was eventually founded by the mutant resistance once again in Magneto's mutant island of Genosha, after the dying Archangel threw a tracker on him without him noticing it, earlier during their battle. In the end, all of Sinister's clones were killed and he as well was finally defeated after he was defenseless after being surrounded by the X-Men and the Brotherhood who used all their strength and powers against him that disintegrated the villain in the process, killing Mister Sinister and ending his tyranny and the Ultimate War once and for all.

A Hydra's Regrowth

Zemo 61615 Mark Gruler Suit

Mark Gruler, the mysterious individual who was responsible for thoroughly ending the Ultimate War

While the rest of the Avengers handles the threat ongoing at the cities of New York and some other cities across the United States, Captain America alone decided on accompanying Director Coulson and S.H.I.E.L.D. in continuously finding out who was the highest superior leader of the Hydra faction, to which they have discovered the supposed mastermind to be Baron Zemo, with him publicly implying through the digital and billboards screens across the nation, that Hydra's motivation for founding, leading, and supporting the Movement was an act of vengeance against S.H.I.E.L.D. and the rest of authorities since the Hydra Uprising and the Nimrod Invasion, all for not "seeing the bigger picture" of their plans for the future of the world.

Since S.H.I.E.L.D. had found out Hydra's primary facility since the Hydra Uprising, the Captain and his tactical team unit (consisting some of the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Deathlok, the modern-day Howling Commandos, and even his situational ally Taskmaster) had infiltrated the Movement's secret headquarters for Hydra, which was the Mount, located in Nevada. But, by the last moment, Rogers was locked inside the room with Zemo. Rogers then confronted Zemo. In their final duel, Rogers manages to get the upper hand over Zemo in hand-to-hand combat, where he had the chance to tear off the villain's mask. However, as he sees the mastermind's true face, Rogers could only stare in disbelief as Baron Zemo had turned and revealed his true face. Rogers was still in shock in awe as he stood still, only to find out that the true mastermind of Hydra's reemergence was his archnemesis during the Second World War, Johann Schmidt, the infamous Hydra leader Red Skull himself.

Unbeknownst to the Ultimate Alliance, the Movement's main headquarters (located at The Mount, Nevada) were suddenly destroyed in the process during the confrontation between Rogers and Schmidt, thanks to the actions of a mysterious Hydra operative who was only known by the identity of Mark Gruler, who used Hydra's several heavily armed, satellite-linked Terror-Carriers against them, destroying their every base and facility. Gruler's true motives and reasons for bringing down the Movement were yet to be revealed, until later, which Captain America himself would find out. However, this following event made the heroes in creating the subsequent opportunity into confronting and defeating all the villainous leaders behind all of this, and finally stop the conflict, albeit at the massive toll of casualties all over the world, which reached to almost more than 15 million lives who were inevitably affected by the consequences of war, the very brief but brutal worldwide conflict which only lasted for approximately one to three weeks of chaos and destruction.

Aftermath

In the aftermath of the Great, Global Superhuman War, the world went into a phase of grief and trauma, seeing all the deaths and devastations all around the globe caused by the different conflicts between the Ultimate and the Movement Alliance, as the former extracted their best of efforts just to end their tyannical assault and mission to establish a new world order, which was proven successful, only to cost unbearable amount of casualties. In the aftermath of the Ultron Offensive, overall public opinion of the Ultimates, mostly the Avengers due to their popular status, was not so much positive. For the next several years, some historians, conteporary philosophers, and other renowned intellectual figures would even consider calling the chaotic conflict as the Third World War or World War III, due to the unbelievable intensity and significance of the event itself to the perspective of the whole world on the consequences of war, especially when it is now involving super-powered belligerents and enhanced combatants.

The effects of war itself even made the purpose and core essence of Geneva Conventions seemed like it was nothing but just a series of unapplied and useless documents, leading for the latter to be reorganized months after the conflict in order to update the terms, rules, and treaties of war. Other literary sources, such as online articles and mass media, would also name the conflict other to the point where they've may or may not have unknowingly romanticize the events of the conflict. One example would be several biased articles from The Verge, Polygon, The Sun News, and the Daily Globe as they named the war as the Massive Superhuman Movement, the Genetic War, and the Superhuman Propaganda, which mostly gained criticisms from sincere journalists who actually experienced the impactful and traumatizing happenings first-hand and various other people thoroughly studied it from time to time.

Due to the false accusations caused by several news outlets around the globe, even the Daily Globe was forced to face several criticisms and legal cases also involving their past hypocrisies, which led to the eventual shut down of the Daily Globe due to the exposure and confession having to commit some serious crimes in order to get fame and renowned recognition for their articles. The Daily Bugle would have also followed the same fate, only to be saved by the conscientious decisions of its head, J. Jonah Jameson, not to and just what. This decision even impressed and gained some trust on Jameson to one of the Bugle's critically-acclaimed and tough-as-nails publisher Ben Urich himself, who was usually a skeptic of Jameson's continuous and menacing conspiracies against the web-slinging hero, Spider-Man.

Civil War

As a direct consequence of the entire world after the unfortunate worldwide events of Ultimate War, the Superhuman Registration Act was eventually implemented as a brainchild of the recent Geneva Convention, which were a set of legal documents designed to regulate the activities of enhanced individuals, specifically those who work for either government agencies such as S.H.I.E.L.D. or for private organizations such as the Avengers, Defenders, and many more. Established by the United Nations and ratified by 117 nations, the act serves as a "middle point" between the Avengers' desire to secure world peace and the international community's concern over the repercussions of the actions caused by many superheroes all around the world. However, this led to a major schism and conflict among the super-powered community, with one side (led by Captain America) opposed to the act resisting registration and the other side (led by Iron Man) supporting registration and trying to enforce the new law.
