  • So, um... we don't know each other, but I'm Gary, I used to post a lot on here under another name, and I'm sort of interested in maybe doing something for Paragon Comics. I've been reading some of the comics in it and they're really cool. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to write a synopsis for my idea or something, but I could if you wanted me to. But if you don't really want me as a part of it that's fine, we're strangers and I haven't really shown my writing capabilities all that much so there's very valid reasons for rejecting me.

    • We'd always love more people involved in Paragon! What were you thinking?

    • Oh my god, I almost had a heart attack when you replied! holy crap, okay gonna take a minute to calm down...

Okay, well, so my idea is something I've been working on for a while now. To make a very long story short, it's more or less a supernatural/surrealist teen drama that follows a group of teenagers ranging fron 16-19 called The Pack who are the followers of a philosophy that believes the world is split into three halves: order, chaos, and balance. They believe too much order will turn the world into a distopia but too much chaos and everything will suffer, so The Pack's goal is to try and keep balance between these two forces.

If you're interested about this part, the main character's abilities are technically reality warping but none of them actually have control of these abilities because they come from an outside force. I'm not sure how much I can give away without spoiling things so I'm sorry that I'm being vague, but I hope you at least got some enjoyment out of what I did write.

TL;DR: It's basically the Breakfast Club as directed by David Lynch.

    • That sounds insanely good and right in line with the other books we have running! It's so good, in fact, that I wanted to double check that you're okay with using it in Paragon. After all, if its a really good idea you may want to save it for a real comic or a novel or something.

I only say this because most of us use Paragon as a warm-up of sorts, using characters and concepts we love but aren't planning to monetize someday. You could definitely still make money off of The Pack someday even if its involved in Paragon, but some people prefer not to ... I don't know... dilute their brand? By affiliating their idea with a fanon project.

But I love the idea, and if you're okay with integrating into the shared Paragon U we'd love to have you!

    • Holy mother of god, that is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me! thank you so much! and I'd still like to be a part of Paragon despite all that, I just really like writing!

    • Great, well, we'd love to have you. Let me know if you have any questions about how it works or how to get set up, and I'd reccomend reading through some of the other "comics" and commenting to show your support, that way the other Paragonians are motivated to do the same with yours!

    • I will! and my only real question is do you have a set date for an issue to be up? like, do I have to have an issue finished within a week or is any time good?
