History[]
Early Years[]
A child of both Asgard and Earth, also known as Midgard to the Asgardians, Thor Odinson was the child of the then leader of Asgard, Odin Borson, and a woman named Jord. Which was in actuality just a cover identity for the cosmic being known as Gaea, a member of a group known as the Elder Gods and the very embodiment and spirit of planet Earth itself. Though Thor would not know this until centuries after his birth. Instead he would be led to believe that Odins' wife Frigga was his actual mother. A woman who despite knowing Thor was not her biological child loved and care for him all the same as if he was. This led to Thor having an idyllic childhood in Asgard, being brought up as the most treasured son of Odin and Frigga, led to believe he was first in line for the throne and would one day rule Asgard. Having no idea of yet another one of the secrets Odin and Frigga kept from him, which was Odins' true firstborn child and his elder sister Hela. Which just like his true parentage Thor could remain in the dark about for centuries.
Which allowed the Asgardian prince to spend his early years wishing to become a warrior like Odin, so he could be worthy of inheriting the throne and title of King from him when the time came. Thor also spent his youth playing with his brother Loki, who was in fact not Asgardian but the biological son of the king of the Frost Giants Laufey, who abandoned him shortly after his birth. After which he as found by Odin and then he decided to take him in and make him his own son, Frigg agreeing. Leading to yet another secret that would have consequences for Thor in the future. But during that time it didn't matter since he and Loki had a strong bond. Though as time went on that bond began to slowly diminish on Loki's part, since he started to feel he was always living on Thor's shadow. A feeling he felt especially hard as just shortly after Thor's eighth birthday Odin sent him to Nidavellir, the homeland of the Dwarves, to bid the dwarf lords Brook and Eitri to create three treasures for Asgard's ruler. A request the dwarf lords fulfilled. One of the treasures being an Uru hammer called Mjolnir, which Odin bestowed many enchantments on, including one that made it impossible for one who was not truly worthy to lift it. After which he then gifted the enchanted hammer to Thor. Which only inspired the young prince to work even harder, and as such he became Asgard's greatest warrior before he even turned 20 years old.
In the following centuries Thor, and his friends, then went on many adventurers. Some of which were even to Earth, which is how the Norse people came to worship the Asgardians as their gods. He also had various relationships from his fellow Asgardian warrior Sif, to the alluring magical enchantress Amora, though they never lasted too long.
Thus the days and years passed by, until finally Thor reached a point in his life that would change it forever.
