Trivia[]

  • This film confirms Valkyrie and Jane Foster as bisexual, as the two of them briefly share a relationship before the end of the movie. Loki is also confirmed to be genderfluid, switching back and forth between his male and female forms (played by Tom Hiddleston and Rooney Mara, respectively), after becoming jealous of Jane becoming the female Thor, claiming he could do it better.
  • Thor's time with the Guardians of the Galaxy is referenced during his facetime call with Rocket, in which Quill and Nebula can be heard arguing in the background, as well as a few distinctive "I am Groot"s.
  • Balder makes his MCU debut portrayed by Chris Hemsworth's real life brother, Liam. However, in the film, Balder is said to be Thor's cousin, rather than his brother.
  • Rooney Mara appears in this film as Lady Loki after previously starring alongside Cate Blanchett, who played Hela, as lovers in the film Carol.
  • Stellan Skarsgard returns as Erik Selvig, and his son, Alexander, also appears in this film as Jane Foster's ex-boyfriend, Donald Blake, making his first appearance after being reference in the first Thor film.
  • Jamie Bell appears as Hermod, the messenger of the Asgardians, and one of Gorr's victims. Bell had previously portrayed Ben Grimm / The Thing in the much-maligned Fant4stic. Thing is portrayed by Seth Rogen in the Marvelette Cinematic Universe.
  • Very little explanation is given in the film for how Loki survived the events of Avengers: Infinity War. He simply says when asked about it, "Are you truly surprised?"
