The Goblin Nation (Marvel XV)

The Goblin Nation is a story arc in Marvel XV that comprises numerous stories throughout Phase One, Phase Two, and Phase Three. The story arc chronologically begins in The X-Men and ends in The Avengers II: Battle World. The arc is focused on the Osborn Corporation and its villanous activities, with Norman Osborn being the main antagonist throughout the series. Spider-Man serves as the main protagonist, however, various superheros like Iron Man, Wolverine, and the superhero groups the X-Men and Avengers are additional protagonists.

Synopsis

For better organization, in terms of chronologically placing the connected stories, the story arc will be seperated in seven parts.

Part VI: Underground

Following the collapse of The Goblin Nation, much of the assets and files detailing much of the organization would be found to have been moved or burned. Skeptical but still optimistic, Iron Man presumed that the death of Norman Osborn was a proper end of the reign of Goblin villains. Spider-Man himself would find the loss of assets as a reason to continue the campaign against the organization, however, would realize that the lack of information on where possible enclaves and extra territories are would mean that the possibility of finding and shutting down the remaining territories would be difficult, if not impossible. With this, the Avengers themselves would consider the possibility of the Goblin War Machine being revived to be highly unlikely.

However, it would be revealed at the end of Spider-Man III: The Goblin Nation, that Norman Osborn's consciousness would be preserved and moved into a supercomputer operating in the central systems of SHIELD, HAMMER, and AIM. It wouldn't be realized until Avengers II that this would be fully revealed to the heroes.
