History

Steve Rogers became Captain America during World War 2 after being injected with the Super-Soldier Serum, and went into suspended animation for nearly 70 years after sacrificing himself to end the war. After he was recovered from the ice in present day, Captain America found himself joining S.H.I.E.L.D., the organization dedicated to fighting against the growing empire of Apocalypse.

After S.H.I.E.L.D. was completely decimated, Captain America took it upon himself to begin leading the rebel team of the Avengers consisting of superheroes who were still willing to fight.

Captain America later found himself disagreeing with his fellow Avenger, Iron Man, who wanted to build an artificial intelligence called Ultron to fight against Apocalypse. Captain America believed it to be a terrible idea, and rather felt a head-on collision in the heart of what remained of the United States would sent a message of hope to the people.

However, as Captain America led the Avengers into battle against Apocalypse's Armada, it went horribly. Not only did Apocalypse's forces kill what remained of the kingdom of Asgard, but Captain America fought until his last breath, eventually falling to Apocalypse's blade, which was broadcast on live television.
