Steven Rogers, also known as Captain America, was a young man from the 1840s who was a patriot who tried to enlist in the US army but was turned down due to his frail form and poor health. He was taken in by the SSR who enlisted him in their super soldier project due to his passion and bravery. He led his team, the Invaders into battle against the Nazis on many occasions. He was seemingly killed in battle with the Nazi's own super soldier, Master Man but was found many years later and found himself in a strange new world, becoming a founding member of the Avengers.
