The history of Stark Industries matches that of its Earth-19999 counterpart up until the fall of SHIELD.
After betraying everyone, Tony had to make Stark Industries private or it would be trashed every day. Everything there was changed and was much more darker. Stark made it clear he wanted everything changed to what fits him. He would soon eliminate his members sided with him.
