Segment 1[]

A street kid meets with his three friends at a skate park, to which all three of them claim to have seen Spider-Man earlier that day. Spider-Man's battle with the Vulture, a high-tech criminal, is told in reverse chronological order with three very different interpretations of Spider-Man's form and abilities: one describes him in his black costume from Spider-Man 3; another describes him as Man-Spider; and lastly, one describes him as a combat robot.

At the end, Spider-Man pursues the Vulture to the skate park and captures him with the help of the fourth street kid. The fourth kid is able to see what Spider-Man truly is after seeing him sustain injuries from the battle. He then proceeds to tell his experience about seeing Spider-Man to his friends after Spider-Man disappears.

Patrick Mulligan and Jean DeWolff are partners that have been hand-picked by Captain George Stacy. On their way, they argue over whether Spider-Man can be trusted with Mulligan saying that they are just running errands for a vigilante while DeWolff replies that Spider-Man has changed New York for the better. As they are heading back, Mulligan declares his intention to leave the police and DeWolff pulls into a vacant lot to confront Mulligan.

However, the two get caught in a very large gunfight between gangs, the Russian Mob and the Maggia led by Silvio Manfredi AKA Silvermane. Silvermane's men are gunned down and Silvermane takes refuge behind Mulligan and DeWolff's patrol car which the Russians subsequently destroys with a rocket launcher. DeWolff and Silvermane manage to get clear in time while Mulligan is rescued by Spider-Man who proceeds to take out the Russians. Silvermane then threatens to kill DeWolff, but he is dispatched by Spider-Man. Spider-Man recognizes Mulligan and DeWolff as Stacy's hand-picked officers and remarks that Stacy is a good judge of character, and swings off.

While checking out Vulture's gear, Spider-Man gets a device with an advanced sound sensor that electromagnetically deflects small-arms fire. He never noticed that Vulture had the device before because he never used a gun during their battle in the first segment.

J. Jonah Jameson sends Peter Parker to attend a charity golf tournament being held by land developer Wilson Fisk, with whom he discusses the mysterious death of a community activist who had opposed some of Fisk's plans. During the tournament, Parker secretly takes Fisk's PDA device.

Later that night Spider-Man, he hijacks a boat owned by Silvermane and drives it alongside a boat owned by the Russian Mob's leader Sergei Kravinoff and proceeds to attack both gangs at once with assistance from his new device. He attempts to force a truce between the two gang leaders until he can get evidence against them and that Silvermane and Kravinoff can then argue who gets the top bunk in jail. The discussion is disrupted when one of Silvermane's men fires at him. The bullet deflects and instead hits one of Kraven's men. Distressed, Spider-Man takes the injured man to the hospital.

Later, he destroys the device, stating that while he is willing to put his life on the line, it has to be his, no one else's.

Spider-Man and Stacy briefly discuss Mysterio's past, but are cut off when the Lizard ambushes Spider-Man. During the fight, Spider-Man discovers the Lizard is Curt Connors who has gone missing. Meanwhile, in another city, a prodigious assassin known as the Foreigner carries out an assassination on the Mayor with a spectacularly difficult shot from a moving ferris wheel literally miles away from the man and returns to his tropical base. There, one of his associates hires him to carry out a hit in New York.

It is revealed that Sergei Kravinoff has put out a hit on Captain Stacy, and Spider-Man is called in to protect him. Spider-Man gives Patrick Mulligan Wilson Fisk's handheld PDA device (which he stole as Peter Parker in the 3rd segment), containing a link to encrypted e-mails proving that Wilson Fisk hired the Foreigner in the past. Spider-Man then follows Stacy's motorcade. The Foreigner attempts to shoot Stacy from a moving train, but Spider-Man catches the bullet with his webbing. The Forgeiner then gleefully reveals that Spider-Man was his real target the entire time and that the threat against Stacy was merely a ruse to draw him out. He opens fire as the train enters a tunnel and as Spider-Man attempts to charge at the Foreigner, he gets shot and falls off the train. The Foreigner advances to where he saw Spider-Man fall while gloating about shooting Spider-Man, but is suddenly ambushed and disarmed from behind by Spider-Man. Now terrified, the Foreigner confesses that he was hired by the Russians to kill Spider-Man and tries to talk Spider-Man out of killing him since he was "only doing his job." Infuriated with the Foreigner's cowardice, Spider-Man knocks him out and the Foreigner and Wilson Fisk are later arrested afterwards.
