Skult was originally a general in Sutr's army before being killed by Thor. Mephisto brought him to his realm and offered him a chance at revenge. Skult agreed and sold his soul, gaining extraordinary powers in the process.

History

Skult is a fire giant, servant of Mephisto and enemy to Thor & Ghostrider.

Early history

Skult was once a powerful warlord who held a place of power in Surtr's army. During the final Ragnarok Skult lead wave after wave of fire giants to attack Asgard. Unfortunatley for him Thor arrived, killed his leader, ripped Skult's right horn of and killed him when he smashed Mjolnir into his chest, breaking most if not all of his ribs and crushing his heart...assuming fire giants have hearts. However using his last breath he vowed revenge against Thor. Mephisto heard him and teleported him to his demonic realm.

Deal with the devil

Upon arriving at Mephisto's realm Mephisto greeted Skult and revealed to him how he heard his revenge wish. He offered Skult a way to do that: by selling his soul and working for him. Skult not caring about the consequences agreed. Mephisto took his soul, healed his battered body and gave him a special demonic sword. This sword could shoot Hellfire, rip souls right out from a beings body, create rifts in space-time allowing teleportation and was powerful enough to kill even an Asgardian. Additionally Skult gained regenerative abilities, could generate Hellfire, and had increaed levels of strength.

New Ragnarok

Having been granted these new powers, Skult lead an army of demons to attack Asgard. The battle raged for days with neither ide backing down. THough both suffered heavy casualties Skult and his vast legions of evil seemed to be winning. Fortunatley for Asgard, Loki, not wanting Mephisto to take control over Asgard and kill Thor when he wanted both of these things, arrived with Ghost Rider to turn the tide of the battle. With these new combatants Skult's army started to lose and eventually he was forced to retreat. Needless to say, Mephisto punished him for it. Mephisto still uses him against his enemies.

Earth-2149

Skult is infected by Ghostrider while battling him. Mephisto then takes away his powers and causes his sword to become an ordinary sword so that he can't teleport in on him. Smart move.
