History
Shang-Chi was raised to be an assassin by his father, who was a Chinese crime lord. They immigrated to America when Shang was 16, where he committed his first murder. He would eventually lose his father to gang violence, and decided to travel the world. He soon found himself in K'un-Lun and connected with the monks, who reignited his passion for combat without bloodlust, and he eventually mastered the Iron Fist. Deciding to use this newfound power to avenge his father, Shang returned to America and began murdering the families that had opposed his father, eventually gaining the attention of the Daredevil, who tried to take Shang down. The two would become arch rivals, each becoming impressed with the other's combat skills and becoming determined to prove themselves the better fighter.
Shang-Chi was recruited into the Renegades by The Outsider under the promise that if he returned to his home reality, he would be bested by Daredevil and sent to prison. His ego too great to allow that to happen, Shang-Chi became a dedicated member of the Renegades.
After killing many people across the multiverse, Shang-Chi met his match against an alternate version of Wolverine, who had been killed and resurrected by the Hand, becoming their top assassin. The two fought for almost 24 hours before Wolverine gained the upper hand and skewered Shang to death before being killed by Jean Grey.
