History[]
Early Years[]
Scott Summers (born July 1983) was the first son, and eldest child, of US Air Force test pilot Christopher Summers, and his wife Katherine Ann. When he was seven years old while flying back home from a family vacation in Hawaii, in their father's vintage plane, a Shi'ar scout ship appeared and suddenly attacked, setting the plane ablaze. Due to this Scott's mother Katherine fitted him and his younger brother Alex with the only parachutes on the plane and then pushed them out of it to safety. During his descent Scott ended up suffering a head injury. Leading him to end up in the hospital for months. Where when he awoke he believed he was the only member of his family to survive the crash. It wasn't until several years later he would learn that was not the case at all.
After he recovered from his injures sustained during the plane crash Scott was placed in the foster system and bounced around from foster home to foster home until he was eleven years old. Where then he was adopted by a loving couple names Noah and Janelle Whaley. Whose love and affection for Scott finally began to help him heal from the trauma of his childhood. But those happy days wouldn't last for too long.
Two years later shortly after Scott turned thirteen years old he started to suffer from intense headaches. Which was the first sign of his Mutant powers manifesting. Though he didn't know it. One day at school Scott was cornered by a bully and then mocked for his inability to fight back. This in turn caused him to wet himself in front of many of his peers. Ashamed Scott left School and went right back home. But shortly after he returned his Mutant powers manifested for the very first time, and due to the head injury he suffered years earlier he couldn't control his powers, leading him to accidentally killing Noah and Janelle. Wracked with guilt Scott fell into a deep depression. That is until he was approached by professor Charles Xavier who worked with Scott to come to terms with his guilt and trauma. Once this happened Xavier then offered Scott a place at his school, which he took. Scott becoming the very first student in what would become known as the superhero Mutant team the X-Men.
First of A New Class[]
After accepting Xavier's offer Scott soon found himself joined at his new school/home by fellow teenage mutants Warren Worthington III, Jean Grey, Katherine Pryde, and Kurt Wagner. Who along with Scott suites up in the summer of 2000 to help Professor Xavier and the rest of their teachers battle against the professors old friend now foe Magneto and his evil mutant terrorist organization known as the Brotherhood of Mutants. Who were attempting to capture a fellow mutant named Rogue so they could use her to trigger a device that would induce mutations in regular humans. But Scott and the newly formed X-Men prevented it. They then gained new members in the form of Rogue and the mutant Logan. While also making the X-Men a permanent group. Scott being named field commander of the younger students, and taking on the codename of Cyclops.
