Backstory
I never really thought that I would become one of them. Hell, I never thought that I would even become a hero period. My family has always believed that I followed the right path, anything would be possible and now I got the chance to prove that anything they can do, I can do too.

Early Life
Samuel Anthony Wilson, or by his real name Samuel Antoine Temitope Nwakaeme was born in San Diego, California, the eldest of three children. While his mother, Darlene originated from New Orleans, Louisiana, his father Paul Wilson originated from Nigeria under his birth name, Paul-Antoine Odunayo Tunji Nwakaeme, which makes Sam and his siblings of Yoruba descent. During his early years of his career, Sam became part of the US Air Force pararescue squad before he left due to an incident where one of his wingmen nearly lost his life. While his family moved to New York City to start a new life, Sam was in Washington DC where he started working at the U.S. Departments of Veteran Affairs, helping fellow veterans who had went through traumatic events during the war.
Recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D.
Sam had worked for the Veteran Affairs for almost three years until he was ready to move to New York City to reunite with his family. As he made his return, he was approached by a group of men who happened to be S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and escorted him to the Helicarrier, much to Sam's confusion. There, he was approached by Nick Fury who kindly welcomed him to the air craft his basic "Fury" personality. When Sam demanded the director on why did his men bring him to the Helicarrier and Fury responded to him that he and the rest of the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had been watching him throughout his career in the Air Force and saw the potential within him and offered him to become part of S.H.I.E.L.D. Sam was reluctant at first and asked what was the reason in him joining and Fury also tells him that that the HYDRA had been returning slowly and had been recruiting their own agents in the shadows, meaning that once their men are formed, HYDRA will reign over the world, destroying many cities like how Red Skull tried to do back when World War II was coming to an end which means that his loved ones will become victims to their insurrection. Thinking about his family whom he cherished the most and the experience from his previous career as from the Air Force, Sam accepts the offer, beginning his training under Fury's teaching.
