History
The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division or known as S.H.I.E.L.D. is an organization formed by the United State and runned by former soldier and CIA member, Nick Fury.
Early History
Just like it's Earth-616 counterpart, it has the same backstory.
Great Symbiote Civil War
When Carnage caused war due to cloning symbiotes, both S.H.I.E.L.D. and the United States declared war on the symbiotes and told people to evacuate. For 5 days, they fought the symbiotes and managed to capture or terminate them with heat.
Aftermath of War
After Carnage died and the war was officially over, the organization refused to reveal Carnage's true identity in fear that the public will panic over the thought of a human being becoming a humanoid creature and also explained the event as an "unknown phenomenon that occured".
