Georgi and Emma (foster parents, deceased),
History
Early Life
Ruslan "Rusty" Collins was orphaned at an early age. His father died the day he was born while serving overseas, and his mother took her own life due to post-partum depression a few months after his birth. With no other living relatives, he was put up for adoption, and taken in by an elderly couple, who loved him very much and enjoyed taking care of him. Their son, Fedor, on the other hand, was extremely abusive, and unfortunately spent a good deal of time around Ruslan. One day, he suggested that Ruslan join the army to develop "discipline," in the process revealing his mistreatment of the young boy. Outraged, Georgi and Emma revolted against their son, who killed them in cold blood and attempted to kill Ruslan as well. Instead, Ruslan fled, lied about his age, and signed up with the Ukrainian Navy.
Little has been revealed about Ruslan's time with the navy, though he claims he was part of the rocket artillery before being transferred to the naval infantry. At some point, while a member of the infantry, he had brought a woman back to his chambers and was getting intimate with her when his mutant powers erupted, causing a violent discharge of flame that severely burned her and destroyed his quarters. Ruslan was immediately taken into custody by the military police, while the woman was rushed to the hospital. Upon learning that Ruslan was directly responsible for the fire, and not indirectly via chemicals or incendiary devices, his superior officer Ivanko Rybalka tried to kill him, then, fearing retribution, contacted the X-Terminators, mutant exterminators, to have Ruslan "taken care of." He was taken care of, literally, as after a short skirmish he was taken into X-Factor's custody, who promised him the safety he'd never known.

Powers and Abilities
Powers
Pyrokinesis: Rusty's mutant powers grant him the ability to psychically generate and control flame by igniting the oxygen present in the air. These flames can appear wherever he chooses (within his line of sight) at whatever intensity he chooses, and though they often originate from his own body, they can be started remotely. Rusty often shapes the fire into fireballs or jets of flame, though he can theoretically give the fire any form he can imagine. He can direct his flame however he chooses, and he does not require the use of physical gestures to do so (though he still does so for the benefit of his allies). The flame Rusty generates can become hot enough to melt most materials, and he is even capable of lighting flame underwater. Because his powers are psionic in nature, he also has the benefit of a psychic field that protects him from all high heat and flame, not just his own.
Thermokinesis: Rusty also has the ability to mentally agitate molecules to generate heat. He can generate high enough temperatures to liquefy projectiles of metallic or wooden origin. This generation and control of heat can allow him to render metals molten enough to be molded just by holding on to them, while also being delicate enough to cook food or even simply keep a partner warm on a chilly day with his mere presence. Rusty has much better control over his generation of heat than of flame.

Abilities
- Soldiering: As a former soldier in the Ukrainian Navy, Ruslan is competent in both armed and unarmed combat. He is also an above-average leader and tactician, having proven himself capable and diplomatic with his younger X-Terminator teammates. Also, despite his distaste for firearms, he's a pretty good shot.
- Athletic Inclination: Rusty has natural talents with various feats of physical capability, including agility, strength, and stamina. According to him, these talents pre-date his time in the naval forces.

Weaknesses
Biologically-Originated Flame: Rusty's flame first came from his body when he developed his powers. Though he was not harmed outright by heat or flame, the sensation was still painful: he felt as though he were being burnt even thouh there was no actual burn damage.
