History

You and your entire wretched planet stands accused of heresy in the highest order. Prepare for extermination.
Ronan the Accuser

Ronan was once the Grand Accuser of the Kree Empire. He worked side by side with Starforce Commanders Mar-Vell and Yon-Rogg in leading the war against both the Skrulls and the Nova Corps. While he did hold disdain for the Skrull species, he holds a personal hatred for the Nova Corps for killing his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

When the Kree and the Xandarians seemed close to approaching a peace treaty, Ronan became enraged. He proposed to the Empire that they form an alliance with Thanos to claim dominion over the galaxy, and he was rebuffed by the government, calling him a mad man. He then went on to abandon the Kree Empire and form his own alliance with Thanos, officially becoming a member of the Black Order. When they discovered the location of the Power Stone, Ronan was sent to retrieve it.

While retrieving the Stone, he faced resistance from the Guardians of the Galaxy, but in the end, was able to claim it for himself. He became drunk on the power it gave him, and went rogue from the Black Order, planning to eradicate Xandar on his own. However, the Guardians of the Galaxy had teamed up with Ronan's former enemies from Earth, the Fantastic Four. With their combined forces, they faced Ronan head on during his assault on Xandar.

During the battle, Ronan was able to hold them off for a long time, nearly even killing Drax the Destroyer and the Thing. However, eventually he was overpowered by the Invisible Woman, who managed to rip the Stone from his hammer. While he reached for it, he was opposed by Star-Lord, who was able to grab the Stone first. Briefly overwhelmed by the power, the Guardians and the Fantastic Four helped distribute the power between each of them, eradicating Ronan and saving Xandar. The Power Stone was then taken by the Fantastic Four to keep safe on Earth.
