Physical Description
Rickard stands at six-foot five with a wellbuilt body. His eyes are green with a little bit of blue and his hair is so long it stops at his waste, he usually keeps it tied in a bun or a ponytail. He has sharp cheekbones and piercing eyes that shine with warmth. He has scars on his wrists from when he tried to kill himself which his usually keeps covered.
Personality
Social and friendly is the typical big brother. He is very good at adapting to social situations and personalities and usually the one people go to for advice or to act as a meditator for a situation. He is noted to be very patient, always listening to other people to offer some advice. He can be very protective of the people he loves, often causing him to go to extreme lengths to keep them safe.
He is noted to be bad with names, often mismatching or mispronouncing peoples names or titles.
Rickard also suffers from depression, brought on by the death of his sister and than lover Oskar. He carries a lot guilt from the car crash that killed them and blames himself.
He has also been shown to be very unforgiving to those who attack his loved ones, he showed no mercy to the Purifiers when they attacked, using his powers to cause their internal organs to liquefy.
History
A Terrible Loss
Rickard grew up in a big family in Sweden.
He was lucky to grow up in a country that had little to no anti-mutant hysteria so he grew up in a very safe and accepting environment, both for his mutation and his sexual orientation.
One night Rikard was driving home with his older sister Katrina and his boyfriend Oskar. Rickard was the designated driver and had not had a single drink.
But it was snowing really bad and the driver in front of them was not paying attention to the road when he hit a bad patch of ice. He lost control of his car and Rickard barely had time to miss hitting him.
Several other cars hit them too, their injuries might have been rather severe but when Rickard's powers activated in his panic it magnified the sound of the cars crashing and everyone in the vicinity save for Rickard died.
The Road to Recovery
Although his physical injuries were not too bad, his mental scars from the accident had a more profound impact.
Rickard was catatonic and although his family were supportive and tried to help him recover his own guilt began to manifest through his powers, causing him to hear his parents blaming him for the deaths of his sister and Oskar.
Rickard became severely depressed and ran from home. Had it not been for the X-Men Rickard would have killed himself.
Back at the school Rickard was able to get the help he needed and finished his education at the school. Xavier informed Rickard's family of his whereabouts but Rickard refused to see them as he was still in the belief that they hated and blamed him for the accident.
Champions and Romance
Rickard was a grade-A student, he passed all his classes with flying colors and was one the schools most promising students. He stayed there to become a teachers assistant (he had tried college but had issues with his peers). When the X-Men began to train the students in teams Warren was quick to go to him to offer him a spot on his team, the Champions.
Rickard accepted, his experience living with a large family back in Sweden gave him the knowledge and skill needed to help keep a team of young teens together and working coherently. All the Champions looked up to him as a big brother and Rickard found himself enjoying his new position.
It was also during this time Rickard began to enter into a relationship with Victor Borkowski, the mutant known as Anole. Victor pursued Rickard with Zeal, but Rickard tried to keep Victor as a friend despite his own feelings for him due to the age difference.
Eventually the two entered the beginnings of a steady relationship, but sadly Rickard would once more face a terrible tragedy.
Attacked of the Purifiers
When the Purifiers attacked the mansion the X-Men suffered severe casualties. Victor almost died himself, luckily he survived but dozens of students had been lost in the attack.
When the X-Men were disbanded Rickard once more cut himself off from the world (including Victor) and once more spiraled into depression.
Victor tracked him down and managed to pull him out of his funk and convinced him to com live with him back with his family.
Victor's parents had some apprehension about their sons relationship with the older mutant, but after they laid down the ground rules and all sat down to talk about things they welcomed him into their home with open arms.
Both Victor and Rickard were delighted to learn the X-Men were getting back together and Rickard was happy to be reunited with his team.
Facing the Past
Rickard's mother Freyja was finally able to contact him, unfortunately it was to tell him that his father Tobias was in the hospital for cancer treatment.
Rickard went back home accompanied by his team and boyfriend. His meeting with his father was tense, both his parents assumed he just left and were still rather angry that he made them worry so much.
When Rickard's powers began to manifest his guilt again Victor quickly realized what had happened, how it was Rickard's powers not his parents that whispered that it was his fault for the accident.
Realizing the terrible mistake he made Rickard was finally able to make the final step he needed to get over his guilt and began to reconnect with both his parents.
Of course he had to introduce Victor to the rest of his family and both boys had to deal with dozens of medaling uncles, aunts and cousins and their overly enthusiastic support for their relationship.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
Acoustkinesis: Rickard's mutation allows him to control sound. He can alter and manipulate any form of sound through sheer will alone. He can also replicate and mimic sound he has ever heard or can imagine.
- Flight: With a lot of concentration is possible for Rickard to fly, it is easier when there is more sound and noise for him to use, he can carry people with him but it requires more concentration.
- Sonic Scream: Rickard can amplify his own voice to let out a scream similar to Banshee and Siryn that can render a person unconscious or even shatter solid matter.
- Sound Mimicry: Rickard is capable of perfectly duplicating any sound he has ever heard or can imagine. He can use this to play his favorite music or to let other people here a conversation he has heard. He can use this trick fool his enemies by making them hear voices that are not there.
- Sound Manipulation: Rickard can make even the faintest whisper sound like an explosion, or if he desires he can mute the sound in an area, making him effective against those who use sound like Dazzler, Black Bolt, Klaw and Banshee. He can also use this in tandem with his team mates, Wayne's shriek to increase it's effects and potency.
- Sonic Strike: Rickard can focus his power onto the nerves of his opponent causing them immense pain and immobilizing them. He can also use this attack to target other specific parts of a body, causing the organs to liquefy.
- Sonar: When Rickard was rendered blind he was able to use his powers to see by using sound to send out a sonic pule similar to bats.
- Acoustic Trance: By manipulating sound and vibrations Rickard can effect a persons mood and emotions. He can use this to calm a angry mob and put them in a minor trance.
