Richard Parker was the father of Peter Parker, husband of Mary Parker (nee Fitzpatrick), little brother of Benjamin Parker and brother-in-law of May Parker. Prior to his death he was a S.H.I.E.L.D. field agent and was the partner and husband of Mary Parker. Before their last mission, they left their son Peter in the care of Ben and May. While their death have been left as "a plane crash" to the public, rumors persist that they died in a "heroic way".
Although not much is know about Richard's personality, Ben claims that Richard was a good man who wanted to help people in anyway he could. He was said to view highly of his brother and the two were close to the point they would risk anything for the other.
Due to being a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, it is implied that his morality was grayer than his brother. He viewed killing as part of the job and didn't hold any guilt against those who in his view "had it coming". However, he never enjoyed it and would've only used lethal force if necessary, showcasing that he valued life similarly to his brother. According to May, Richard was a man that had many secrets and would rarely talk about them, no matter how much he disliked it. As a result of his career, he trusted few people outside his direct family and closest friends.
He was known to be a confident, charismatic and charming individual who always "kept his cool". He had a habit he had with his wife is that he would occasionally flirt with her, which she would flirt back. A trait that some people would found "odd" was his sense of humor, as he would make "jokes and wisecracks in the middle of action and danger", something his son would inherit. However, he did have his own awkwardness on occasions, such as when he learned about his impending fatherhood and how he would interact with Mary before they were in a relationship.
Despite being an accomplished spy, Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and viewed Peter as the most important thing to him in the world. Fury stated that Richard would fight the world to keep Peter safe, even if he'd die in doing so.
