She is the second child of the Summers, and a mutant whose powers combine those of her parents. She probably inherited the most powerful ability but don't dare to talk about it. Her brother Nathan being already too old when Hero High opened, Rachel is the only of the two who goes there.

Trivia

-Rachel Summers actually exists, notably on Earth 811. She's from the alternate future of "Days of the future past", where Jean stayed alive. On Earth -616, Scott had a child (Nathan/Cable) with Madelyne Pryor (Jean 's evil clone), who's sort of the parallel half brother of Rachel

-But here, Madelyne do not exist, thus Nathan and Rachel are fully brother and sister.

-Rachel had many aspects, but here she remains with the most benign one. The glasses are a tribute to her father.

-Franklin Richards (son of Richards and Susan Reeds) have a crush on her; it was already the case in "Days of the future past".
