Early Years[]

Quentin Beck (born March, 1964) was the only child and son of Elmore Beck, and his wife, minor actress Henrietta Beck. Who from a very young age had a love for movies and special effects. In part thanks to his mother, who shared the details of her short-lived acting career with him. As well as her love for the cinema in general. Though Quentins' father Elmore was the opposite and took every chance he could to remark how his son was wasting his time with movies and cinema. His disdain for such things becoming even more apparent after his wife died in a traffic accident on her way to an audition for a minor role in a film. Yet despite his fathers attempts to get him to give up on films and special effects he did not. In particular due to the encouragement he got him his cousin and good friend Maguire Beck, and her father, Quentin uncle, Vincent Beck to follow his dreams. His uncle even gifting him his first camera. Which Quentin then used to make his own home movies and learn how to create stop-motion special effects. That is until his father smashed the camera. Still, this did not stop Quentin from pursuing the art of practical special effects. Which he decided to pursue as his career. As such after high school he went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he developed the technical skills to help up him solidify his career aspirations. It was also in college Quentin took an interest in developing holographic technology to create realistic illusions.

Working On The Big Screen[]

After graduating college Quentin moved back out west to Hollywood, where he got a job at Wonder Studios as part of the special effects crew. He then worked his way up until he found himself not only as an accomplished special effects expert, but also a stuntman. It was also during this time Quentin met and fell in love with a Wonder Studios actress named Miranda Wilson. Whom he eventually married and had two children with. Giving Beck a life most people would be content with. But he wasn't. Since as the years went by he grew bored with his career and increasingly frustrated with his lack of recognition he got for his special effects work. This in turn caused Beck to try and become an actor himself to garner more fame. Yet it was met with very little success. Quentins' attempts at acting also put a strain on his marriage, given his wife was getting more prominent acting roles and her career was finally taking off. This made Quentin jealous, and thus led to multiple fights between the two before Miranda finally had enough and filed for divorce. Which in turn made Quentin quit his job at Wonder Studios. Not just because of his impending divorce, but also because he felt he deserved more recognition. As such he decided to apply his knowledge to the scientific community and soon found himself with a job at Stark Industries.

Mysterio Rises[]

After gaining employment at Stark Industries as an engineer Quentin fully developed the holographic technology he had begun tinkering with during his college years and created a holographic emitter capable of producing the realistic illusions he had been dreaming of for years. Once he accomplished this Quentin filed for a patent for his invention, only to be denied when he discovered his employment contract with Stark Industries strictly forbid him from doing such a thing. Angered by this Quentin became increasingly unstable. So much so that Stark Industries fired him, and then patented his technology under their name. Angered by this Beck sought revenge, and so he used his technological and special effects skills to began launching a series illusion attacks, disguised as beings known as Elementals, against Stark Industries associated facilities. Only so he could save them under the guise of his new alias Mysterio. Not only to embarrass Stark Industries as a whole, but to obtain the fame and admiration he so desperately sought. Unfortunately Beck's plans were ruined when he encountered Spider-Man, who exposed his schemes and showed the world the criminal Beck truly was, leading him to develop a deep grudge against the spider-themed hero.
