Quentin Beck is a former Stark Industries employee who quit after the company was bought out by Potts International. He later went to work for the Advanced Idea Mechanics as one of their top scientists, developing in-depth illusion technology, earning himself the nickname "The Magic Man", which he despised.
He later altered his technology to be usable as a suit of armor, and called himself Mysterio, becoming the leader of AIM's Enforcers. Using his new technology, he enjoys torturing the heroes mentally.
