Peter Parker was raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben, who became worried about him from a young age when his intelligence became apparent, but so did his apparent lack of empathy. Following the death of his Uncle Ben by loan sharks, he and his Aunt May drifted apart. He would eventually graduate from ESU, but quickly fell into debt. He heard about a shady organization called the Advanced Idea Mechanics, which was founded by disgraced scientists Tony Stark and Reed Richards, and that they were seeking human test subjects. Peter volunteered, and was cross bred with spider DNA, transforming him into the only successful cross species, and he was dubbed Spider-Man. He then joined AIM's think tank, but also acted as their premiere assassin. When they came into possession of an alien symbiote, Spider-Man once more volunteered to be the test subject, and quickly formed a codependent bond with the life form, and the two became Venom.
Venom was eventually recruited into the Renegades by The Outsider under the promise that if he returned to his home world, Stark and Richards would become curious and separate Peter and Venom to conduct experiments about how they survive without each other. Enraged and unwilling to be separated, Venom agreed to become a Renegade.
He would then serve with the Renegades on several horrific missions, and eventually met his end on a world where the Fantastic Four used their powers to enslave the world. In trying to assassinate the Human Torch, Venom was overpowered and burned alive.
