Spider-Man was a former superhero. He was one of the heroes who were infected and turned into zombies.

The Virus[]
Peter's history was similar to his Marvel mainstream counterpart and his Maximus mainstream counterpart, up until the Hunger Virus was unleashed upon the world.

Spider-Man, pre-infection
Spider-Man was swinging in the New York skies when his Spider-Sense sensed danger unlike anything he has ever fought. Spider-Man landed in Times Square when he saw what appeared to be an infected citizen eating another person, much to his dismay. Spider-Man tried to lead the people to safety and fight the zombies when one of them bit his leg. Severely injured, Peter swung out of the area to get to safety. He soon discovered that he was also infected, slowly turning. With much little time left, Spider-Man fought off some of the infected on a rooftop before trying to escape but died from the fall. Believed to be infected, the NYPD handcuffed Spider-Man to contain him. As one of the officer took off his mask, Peter suddenly awoke but it was too late. Peter succumbed to the infection, turned into a zombie, and ate the SWAT officers that were containing him.
