History

Peter Parker became Spider-Man after being bitten by a genetically modified spider, and spent the next several years fighting for justice. However, his spirit was destroyed after the Order of the World Tree attacked when his Aunt May and his pregnant wife, Gwen, were slaughtered by Dark Elves.

Enraged and desperate, Spider-Man snapped and began tearing through the Order's forces. His shift in direction frightened and saddened the Avengers, even more so when he was forcefully transformed into the Horseman of Death by Apocalypse.

After serving as Apocalypse's Horseman for several years, Death was faced with his own mortality during the Battle of Krakoa. The Avengers, the Valkyries, and the Order of the World Tree had found themselves locked in battle on the Brotherhood of Mutants's sacred ground. Bound by his status as a Horseman to protect it, he came to face the duo of Loki and Sera, who used their combined magic to overpower him, impaling him with a mystical Staff before overloading his energy causing an implosion. Deep within his subconscious, Peter was grateful to finally be relieved from the cursed life he was living.
