Peter Parker was born to his parents, Richard and Mary, at an unspecified point in the very late 1960s. When Peter was about 3, his parents sent him to go live with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben while they went on a business run. They never returned as they had allegedly died in a horrible plane crash over the Pacific Ocean.

During a field trip to a science exhibit at Empire State University, Peter, May Jane, and Harry attended an experiment hosted by renowned scientist Doctor Stromm. However, during the experiment, Peter was bitten on the hand by a spider that had been irradiated by the particle accelerator used in the demonstration. Moments later, Peter collapsed and fell unconscious. He was then rushed home by ambulance, where he awoke hours later. Peter was then recommended by a nurse to stay home from school for the next few days until she could get a proper blood test. During the course of the next couple of days, Peter discovered that the spider that had bitten him had also given him extraordinary abilities, such as the ability to scale walls, jump extremely far, increased agility and strength, and a sixth-sense which warned him of impending danger, all of which he used to protect himself during a fight with Flash Thompson when he returned to school the following week.

Believing it to be his chance for fame and riches, Peter designed a costume and tried to earn about $4,000 dollars in a wrestling match in order to buy a car and impress Mary Jane. However, Peter was cheated out by the promoter with a measly $1,200. In response, Peter allowed a thief to escape when he stole the promoter's money. However, when Peter returned home, he learned that his Uncle Ben had been shot and murdered by a burglar and his car stolen. Peter then goes on the search for the killer and eventually discovers him holed up at a warehouse and beats him into submission, only to realize that it was the crook that he had allowed to escape earlier. He then ties the burglar up and leaves him for the police.

With Peter Parker's upcoming high school graduation, he and Mary Jane hooked up as a couple after she and Harry broke up. Along the way, Spider-Man faced some newer villains this time around, such as Doctor Octopus, Electro, the Shocker, the Rhino, Spencer Smythe and his Spider-Slayer, and the Chameleon. Eventually, Doctor Octopus broke himself, Electro, the Scorpion, the Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, and the Sandman out of prison in order to form the Six coalition, with the end goal of destroying Spider-Man. However, this plan didn't work and the Six were beaten and thrown back into prison. Peter, Harry, and Mary Jane then graduated from high school with flying colors.

Only 3 days after his high school graduation, Peter and Harry took a walk through Central Park, reflecting on their lives up until that point. However, Peter had to duck out on their walk when his Spider-Sense went off. As he left to change into Spider-Man, he noticed a massive embassy sitting in the park's center. Spider-Man also happened to notice the arrival of other heroes such as the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. As all 4 parties of heroes approached the embassy from the sky to investigate, they were pulled in by some kind of tractor-beam, disappearing in a flash of light as the embassy vanished.

The heroes soon awoke from a deep-rooted slumber aboard a gigantic spaceship. Whilst trying to figure out their predicament, the heroes were met by the Beyonder, a mysterious, almighty entity whose powers seemingly existed beyond those of space and time. The Beyonder informed the heroes that if they fought a valiant battle, all their greatest wishes would come true. When questioning these words, it was Spider-Man who noticed another spaceship veering alongside them, holding many villains aboard.

The 2 ships later landed on Battleworld, a patchwork planet created by the Beyonder in order to serve as the "chessboard" for his battle between the heroes and villains. As the heroes exited the ship, they were met by the villain armada, which also consisted of some of Spider-Man's enemies, including Doctor Octopus and the Lizard. After engaging in a brief scuffle, the villains retreated due to the combined powers of the X-Man Storm and the Avenger Thor proving too much for the villainous army. Afterwards, all the heroes set up shop aboard their ship.

Spider-Man began to miss Gwen, and found solace in an unlikely friendship formed between himself, the Human Torch, and the X-Man Iceman. These "Spider-Friends", led by Spider-Man, would eventually go off on a mission of their own to confront the Wrecking Crew, who were terrorizing the city of Denver, Colorado, the chunk of Earth that helped form Battleworld. The Spider-Friends were encountered by Spider-Woman, the protector of Colorado, who joined the group against the Wrecking Crew. The Spider-Friends eventually forced the Crew to retreat and they returned with Spider-Woman to the heroes' stronghold.

Eventually, the leader of the villain coalition, Doctor Doom, caused the heroes' stronghold to be demolished, causing them to go on the run in search of a new base of operations. The heroes eventually learned of a machine kept nearby by the villagers which could create and repair clothing. When Spider-Man asked his teammates on the Spider-Friends group where it was, they informed him it was in a room behind them, but did not specify which one it was. Spider-Man came across a machine which spouts a small black ball as he thinks of a costume. However, before he can react, the ball turns into an alien liquid, sprouting up his arm and creating a whole-new black costume, somewhat reminiscent of Spider-Woman's. The suit partially enhanced his strength and speed, as well as responded to his thoughts.

At that same time, the heroes' new base was attacked by a small contingent of villains consisting of Thundra, Ultron, and the Absorbing Man. Spider-Man decided to make the villains paranoid using the suit's black color to his advantage. Pulling many various pranks on the villains from the walls and the ventilation system, Spider-Man managed to back Thundra and Absorbing Man into a corner while Ultron searched for the hero. Spider-Man finally appeared from the shadows and attacked the villains, showing off his newly-enhanced abilities and even causing Absorbing Man to lose his arm. Spider-Man, single-handedly, managed to get the villains to retreat.

Quote1 I'm Peter. Peter Parker. When I was in high school, kids like Flash and Kenny used me as a punching bag. I was called a nerd and a spaz with no class and no life. How wrong they were. I actually lead two lives; I'm both Peter Parker AND Spider-Man. I'm not sure why I have my powers. Maybe it was fate. Maybe it was luck. I don't know. But what I do know that with this great power, there must come an even greater responsibility. Quote2
Peter Parker

Early life

Peter Parker was born to his parents, Richard and Mary, at an unspecified point in the very late 1960s. When Peter was about 3, his parents sent him to go live with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben while they went on a business run. They never returned as they had allegedly died in a horrible plane crash over the Pacific Ocean.

High School

By the time Peter was 15, he had enrolled at Midtown High. He was often picked on due to his scrawny figure, high intelligence, and trouble making friends. However, Peter was admired for who he was by close friend and secret crush Mary Jane Watson and his best friend Harry Osborn, the three always hanging out with each other off grounds.

Great Power

Greatest Responsibility

Believing it to be his chance for fame and riches, Peter designed a costume and tried to earn about $4,000 dollars in a wrestling match in order to buy a car and impress Mary Jane. However, Peter was cheated out by the promoter with a measly $1,200. In response, Peter allowed a thief to escape when he stole the promoter's money. However, when Peter returned home, he learned that his Uncle Ben had been shot and murdered by a burglar and his car stolen. Peter then went on the search for the killer and eventually discovered him held up at a warehouse and beat him into submission, only to realize that it was the crook that he had allowed to escape earlier. He then tied the burglar up and left him for the police.

Spider-Man

After Uncle Ben's funeral, Peter weeped his death. However, after Aunt May told Peter that Uncle Ben would be proud of him, he decided to honor his uncle's memory by living by his words of great power meaning an even greater responsibility and become a crimefighting super hero. Taking on the name and costume of Spider-Man, Peter earned himself a part-time job as a freelance photographer at the tabloid newspaper the Daily Bugle, run by Spider-Man slanderer J. Jonah Jameson.

Yellow Journalism

Sometime after Spider-Man made his first appearance, he encountered Eddie Brock, a journalist who attempted to write a botched story about him for the Daily Globe, the Bugle's rival. However, Spider-Man stopped this plan and exposed Eddie, causing him to lose his job.

Super-Villains

Around one year after Spider-Man's first appearance, many super-villains began to appear in New York as well. Spider-Man's earliest rivals consisted of the Vulture, Mysterio, the Sandman, Kraven the Hunter, the Lizard, the Scorpion, and the Green Goblin.

Graduation from High School
