Nicole Fury is the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., a top-secret global peacekeeping organization designed to covertly neutralize terrorist and other threats around the world. As the director she's the one who assigns each agent a mission and the one who knows all what happens and when it happens.
Her father fought in World War II and met Captain America. He would tell Nicole stories about his exploits with the legend. This inspired her to follow in her father's footsteps by enlisting in the military service.
She lost sight in her left eye due to an injury.
When Captain America was found and revived, Nicole believes the time has come to activate the Avenger Initiative.
