History

I used to have eyes everywhere. Ears, everywhere else. Now, all I can see is the inside of this cell. All I can hear is the mechanical laughing of a soulless machine.

Nick Fury was the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. leading the fight against Apocalypse's Armada. After S.H.I.E.L.D. fell and most of Fury's heroes banded together to form the Avengers, he opted to instead go underground.

He teamed up with dedicated Inhuman Agent, Quake, to form a team of Secret Warriors. While the Avengers would fight on the frontlines and inspire hope in the people, the Secret Warriors would do the dirty work and take down Apocalypse's strongholds.

However, during the process of recruiting Inhumans for the team, Ultron rose to power as well. When Fury attempted to take him out as well, things went wrong. He opted not to include the Warriors out of concern for Daisy's safety, and ended up getting captured. Fury was locked up in the Citadel and kept to be probed for information.

Years later, when the Outsiders came to Earth-9999, they teamed up with the X-Men and the Avengers to raid Ultron's Citadel. During the battle, however, Fury would end up sacrificing himself by teaming up with Magneto and the Hulk to finally destroy the Citadel and render Ultron powerless.
