History
Beginnings
Nathan was one of the many unwilling test subjects of Norman Osborn in his attempt to create a new super-soldier serum who escaped during the Hobgoblin's rampage at Oscorp. Unbeknownst to Osborn, Nathan gained a extremely high intellect and superhuman learning abilities from the experiments done to him. He later utilized his abilities to hack into various government databases undetected "for fun".
Becoming Iron Lad
At some point, Nathan befriended Ouran, who convinced Nathan to do good with his unique talents, rather than use them for his own ends. Utilizing Mandroid specs stolen from a SHIELD database, and materials from various other sources such as HAMMER, AIM, and even Sentinels, Nathan constructed his own suit of armor and became the mysterious Iron Lad.
