Early Years[]
Natalia Alianovna Romanova (born December, 1982 ) was the only child and only daughter of Katerina Romanova and Alian Romanova. The latter being of the last living direct descendants from the former ruling family of Russia, House Romanov. As a child Natalia was deemed to have genetic potential by the Soviet-Russian funded black ops program known simply as the Red Room. To that end they sought to acquire her. So they made a proposal purchase her from her parents. Which Alian and Katerina vehemently refused. Due to this agents of the Red Room killed Natalia parents' and then took her into their grasp. After which from practically birth she was raised by the Red Room. Enduring intensive education, physical training, and instruction in the trade of spy-craft. All of which Natalia had a natural talent for and excelled at.
In 1992 due to her achievements Natalia was given a reprieve from training. She was placed on an undercover assignment with a team that would be operating in the United States of America. Her fellow teammates consisting of another young Red Room trainee named Yelena Belova, the first successful Soviet-Russian supersoldier Alexei Shostakov, and finally a senior Red Room operative, which were also known as Black Widows, and scientist, Melina Vostokoff. Their mission was to recover cognitive data from a place known as the North Institute, a S.H.I.E.L.D facility being run by HYDRA. The mission itself took three years to complete and during that time, although she knew she wasn't supposed to, Natalia came to see her fellow teammates as her real family. But that all came crashing down when they made their escape to Cuba after completing their mission. Once there Yelena was forcefully separated from Natalia, even though she tried to protect her, and both girls were returned to the Red Room Academy to complete their training separately. Not meeting again until years later.
Forced back into her routine training Natalia eventually went back to the demeanor she displayed before the undercover assignment in America. Quickly rising to the top of her class again. She then held that spot until she completed her training and graduated. Upon which the Red Room performed a hysterectomy on her, permanently removing her ability to have children. While also enhancing her with a Soviet-made version of the Super Soldier Serum, created by the lead Red Room program scientist herself, Dr. Lyudmila Kudrin. After these events occured Natalia was put to her as a full-fledged Black Widow.
A Chance At Redemption[]
Now a full-fledged Black Widow Natalia was immediately deployed on missions, anything from assassinations to simply reconnaissance. Though no matter what the mission she always completed it. Thus she quickly made a name for her in the international community, but not in a good way, and soon was said to be the finest Black Widow the Red Room has ever produced. Though Natalia didn't care for such praise, instead wanting out of the life she had been forced to live. A chance that came in 2007 when on a mission in Budapest she found herself facing off against an agent of the international peace-keeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D. known as Clint "Hawkeye" Barton. Who although had been ordered to eliminate her saw something in Natalia, and instead of following his orders offered her a way out from under the thumb of the Red Room and the KGB, which was to join S.H.I.E.L.D. An offer Natalia took. After which she and Barton spent several days together evading pursuers sent after her by her former handlers. Then once they were sure no one was following them they slipped out of Budapest and returned to S.H.I.E.L.D. where Natalia was then personally made an agent by then S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nicholas Fury Jr., who also gave her a new identity so she could operate without too much scrutiny. Thus Natalia Romanova became Natasha Romanoff. Who then instantly began to do good to make up for all the bad she had done, becoming the partner of Hawkeye in the process. The two even developing a sibling-like relationship during their years working together.
Avengers[]
A few years after joining S.H.I.E.L.D. Natalia suddenly found herself in the spotlight as she worked to stop the invasion of Earth by the alien race known as the Chitauri, who had been summoned to the planet by the Asgardian Prince Loki, who has also stolen the powerful artifact known as the Tesseract from S.H.I.E.L.D. custody. Doing so right alongside her fellow agent Barton as well as Tony Stark, fellow super-soldier Steve Rogers, the scientist couple and heroes Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, Dr. Bruce Banner, and finally Loki's own brother Thor.
In the aftermath of the groups success at defeating Loki and his invading force she, alongside her fellow heroes, decided to make their group arrangement a permanent one, and thus Natalia found herself as a founding member of the superhero team known as the Avengers.
Hydra Uprising[]
While on assignment with S.H.I.E.L.D. Natasha, and her fellow Avenger Steve Rogers, discover the organization Hydra has been largely masquerading as S.H.I.E.L.D. for decades, ever since their defeat during World War II. Faced with this revelation, and the fact Hydra plans to use a top-secret S.H.I.E.L.D. project known as Insight to reannounce their existence to the world, they band together with some of their closest allies including Sharon Carter, Nick Fury Jr., and his father Nick Fury Sr., as well as Steve New friend Samuel Wilson, to stop their plans. This leads to an all out battle at the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters known as the Triskelion, where Natasha herself learns the World Security Council member Aleksander Lukin is none other than the deadly Johann Schmidt, also known as the Red Skull. Whom Natasha attempts to capture. Only to be stopped by fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine, Nick Fury Jr. former lover, who had been a high ranking Hydra member for decades.
Ultimate War[]
A few months after the events at the Triskelion took place in 2015, along with her fellow Avengers, and their allies Natasha found herself working to combat the organization known as the Cabal created by Red Skull in the wake of Hydra losing ground since their reemergence. To that end she went overseas, and spent a majority of her time working with the E.D.I. to crush the foreign operations of their enemies. Leading her to clash with Hydra leader Otto Vermis. Right alongside the Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes, who had decided to join with the heroes and work to atone for the actions in his past. Actions which Natasha could relate to, which allowed her to form a good working relationship with Barnes, that eventually sparked some small embers of romance. Though before she could truly explore these new feelings of hers for the former Hydra assassin the pair were separated in the wake of the Superhuman Civil War.
Facing The Past[]
A couple of months after Natasha and her allies undid the destruction caused by the mad Titan Thanos, due to his infamous Snap, in mid-2020, Natasha found herself reunited with Barnes, who were one of the many erased from existence, and upon this occuring expressed feelings of wanting to explore a romantic relationship with him, too which the latter agreed. So with that the pair decided to take some time for themselves and go on a trip across the globe. But during so they came under attack by Black Widows, including Natasha adopted sister Yelena, which shocked her to her very core. Since she had thought she was the only Black Widow left, after she destroyed the Red Room over a decade earlier. But Natasha soon learned how wrong she was from Yelena herself. Who informed her the Red Room was still very much operational, and still being led by general Dreykov and Dr. Kudrin. Faced with this Natasha resolved herself to finally and truly put an end to the Red Room, Bucky of course agreeing to help her. So with that she, Yelena, and Barnes, headed to Russia to destroy the Black Widow Program permanently.

Black Widow's Bite: The Black Widow's gauntlets are wrist cartridges containing various tools of the spy trade: tear-gas pellets, a radio transmitter and the ability to fire a 100-foot spring-loaded cable.The gauntlets also include a "Widow’s Bite" which is capable of stunning an opponent and emitting highly potent electric shocks with a maximum of about 30,000 volts at the range of at least 20 feet. The functions of the gauntlets are activated via sensors keyed to her wrist musculature.

- Just like her Earth-1610 comic counterpart Natalia in this universe has been officially confirmed to be a direct descendant of Russian Royal House of Romanov.
- Despite being forced to learn Ballet as part of her Red Room/Black Widow training Natalia has come to love the dance form and it is her biggest hobby.
- Natalia considers Barbara Morse her best friend and considers Clint Barton the elder brother she never had.
- Natalia once contemplated suicide while during her training within the Red Room.
- Although she is not a formal or stable in regards to her religious duties, Natalia religion is Russian Orthodox.
- When she first began working for S.H.I.E.L.D. Natalia developed a small crush on Clint Barton, but quickly squashed after a few months of working with him.
