Namor is the half-human rightful King of Atlantis, who was raised on land before the Atlantean army required him to take his place on the throne. Over the years, he maintained strained relations with the surface world, only truly getting along with his fellow land-dwelling mutants.
However, then the Order of the World Tree attacked Earth, Namor felt a responsibility to fight back. This resulted in Atlantis being destroyed by Frost Giants, leaving Namor perfectly vulnerable to being manipulated by Apocalypse into becoming the Horseman of Famine. This fueled his desire to wage war against the Order and humanity all at once.
