History
Even as the sun no longer rises over the seas, I will keep the lights of Aztlán fair and bright... Very bright!

Early Years
Namor was born at some point around 1571 to Leonardo Malaquias, a human captain of the Spanish galleon by the name of La Resistencia, and Fen, the beautifully elegant yet fierce princess of Aztlán, the native name of the anglicized legend of Atlantis, an empire found beneath the Atlantic Ocean. These two people from different worlds fell in love for years due to their mutual curiosity and wonders about each others' way of living have planned to unite both of their homes in secret, slowly and surely. Leonardo planned to be a diplomat for his home towards Atlantis, while Fen was one of the first Atlanteans in millennia to sneak out of Aztlán and secretly travel across the surface world since her ancestors had completely adapted into living underwater. However, such a distance between their homes has led to the inevitability for tragedy to snuff out their blazing love.
When the crew of La Resistencia were accused of treason and heresy by the Spanish Inquisition for reporting their tales about Atlantis, it was Leonardo who willingly took most of the blame and subsequently burned at the stake by authorities, a decision that protected his beloved Fen, most of his crewmates' lives, and keep the peace in Aztlán, albeit rendering the grieving Fen to reluctantly succeed as the next queen of their isolationist aquatic kingdom when Aztlán began to face a few major threats from the surface world at the end of the Age of Discovery that almost led to their home being exposed by factions from other secretive communities, including the older Lemuria, who sought after their abundant resources.
Graciously named by his mother as El Niño con Amor due to how blessed she felt upon conceiving him with her late lover, Namor's full name translates to "The Boy With Love." In his childhood as a prince of Aztlán, Namor spent his boyhood under the guidance of his fierce aunt Zarina and studious uncle Daka who were supporters of Fen's reign, while also playing and learning with his maternal cousins, namely Namora, Byrrah, as well as his good friend Meranno, not knowing where half of his true paternal heritage came from throughout his younger days, serving as a symbolic bridge between the surface and ocean world, which was ironic to the fact that he and his fellow friends were rarely allowed to travel to the surface world out of their safety.
The Avenging Son
However, the innocent curiosity that Namor had for the sentient life in the surface world has descended into hatred when a group of explorers had attempted to raid the shallower villages of Aztlán in an attempt to exploit their unique plethora of marine resources, from chunks of Vibranium to mutated plants which they believed were better than the gold and spices which they originally sought. While the Namor and his fellow Astekah were able to eradicate the squadron of ships, the battle was proven to be bloody and fatal to dozens of Atlanteans, including Namor's mother, Fen, who sacrificed her life to save a group of children on the village that was attacked. Before Fen succumbed from her wounds, attempted to plea his son not to be consumed by his rage with her belief that he could still unite Aztlán and the surface world.
However, Namor was already stricken with grief that he had subconsciously embraced his vengeance against the surface dwellers, pledging to show no mercy against anyone who attacks or shows deceptive interest in them which cemented Namor to keep the old ways of the Aztlán, isolated from the rest of the surface world. Determined to fulfill their people's ritual of burying their people in the surface, Namor and his warrior-gatherer allies surfaced to the land somewhere in the shores of Central America where they stumbled upon a civilization, built on slavery and exploitation by Spaniards whose actions were were strikingly similar to the explorers who attacked his mother and her people, and unknowingly, they were the same people who executed his father for defending Aztlán.
They attacked the civilization to make room for his mother's burial, saving the slaves in the process as some had escaped and with some even starting to revere him as a legendary hero. One of the colonizing villagers, a priest, called him a demon and surprisingly described him as "The Boy Without Love" in Spanish, recontextualizing the meaning behind Namor's name. While some of his allies were deeply concerned and spiteful about the cursing of the priest towards their young prince, the vengeful Namor embraced the name in this new dark light as he grew with barbarity and hatred for the surface world as he finished off the colonizers in that village while burying his mother's body.
World War II

Namor in his younger years as prince and warrior of Atlantis
By the time of his middle adolescence centuries later, Namor and his fellow trained warriors were courageously tasked to fight off the incoming underwater Nazi forces from entering their hidden kingdom during World War II sent by a cruel and sadistic Nazi head geneticist and researcher only once known by the alias of Nosferatu, a battle so catastrophic it even triggered an oil rig explosion in the Atlantic. The subsequent spill had also greatly attracted the attention of Namor, who was already in a blossoming romantic relationship with a young woman named Sandy Pierce, whom he had met and spent time with for a long while. Unfortunately, that same human-made disaster that he failed to prevent from causing irreversible damages and unjust casualties to both the surface and underwater world.
With it, the kingdom of Atlantis has suffered a great loss after the brief but brutal battle sadly resulted in the deaths of hundreds within the kingdom, both the defending warriors and the innocent residents alike (including some of Namor's own cousins and other relatives), despite having to successfully protect the entirety of Atlantis until the very end of the Nazi's attempted assault to invade the mythological ocean empire.
Surface Wars
Following the series of interconnected incidents that has unexpectedly occurred to him and his fellow people, Namor eventually grew up distrusting most of the surface dwellers, having been consistently fueled with hatred and rage towards the latter for their reckless and irresponsible actions on the bodies of water across the entire globe, something the humans were supposed to be protecting instead of destroying in the first place, or so did the Atlanteans had thought at first due to preconceived notions.
At some point in time during the final years of the Cold War, Atlantis was unexpectedly attacked by a group of mysterious surface intruders led by a Russian marine biologist by the name of Lemuel Dorcas, who became interested with the traces of vibranium near the outskirts of Atlantis. Fortunate enough for Namor and the defending Atlanteans, the latter got themselves an helpful aid from the surface world in the form of an efficient and noble S.H.I.E.L.D. tactical unit, led by General Nick Fury and the famous military squad since the second World War, the Howling Commandos themselves.
Unfortunately, this also prompted Namor to feel threatened as the United States also came close to his country alongside Russia during the latter's search for one of their natural resources. Namor came into contact with Wakanda for the first time and proposed a military alliance, but the Golden Tribe declined waging a global war. After clashing with then Wakandan king and Black Panther, Azzuri the Wise (T'Challa's grandfather), Namor would make a truce with the Wakandan rulers to keep each other's existence a secret due to their desire to keep vibranium from the "outside world," with Namor hoping that Wakanda would ask for his help that could someday justify his hatred against the surface world.
Death in the Family
Despite all the altercations both sides had against at first, they still decided to join forces as Namor was strongly convinced that he was willing to do whatever it takes, even negotiating with the surface dwellers, just to keep his people and kingdom safe from the larger threat, that is the Dorcas and his enhanced army of mutates. After several battles solely for the sea empire, the side of Atlantis remained victor against their attempted invaders, only to cost the lives of fearless warriors, including Namor's close aunt, Queen Zarina herself when she sacrificed her life just to prevent her own son from getting killed at the hands of Dorcas' right-hand man, the ferocious and bloodthirsty mutated monstrosity dubbed the Tiger Shark.
Fueled by rage and vengeance, Namor almost killed the ruthless mutate for the unexpected death of his mother if it wasn't for Fury to come and stop him, reminding him that killing wouldn't solve anything but prove Tiger Shark's ideology that Atlanteans were nothing but merciless savages and that there are other ways to bring him and his comrades to justice for their actions, aside from simply killing them a cruel act of punishment. Knowing that Fury was right, he had no other choice but to resist his extreme anger and temptation by handing them over to the authorities of the surface dwellers, courtesy of S.H.I.E.L.D., instead of having them executed.
With the death of Zarina, Namor found out that she had left a final message before anointing him as the next monarch of Aztlán, along with her finally telling him posthumously, about his true origins that his father was the late surface dweller by the name of Leonardo Malaquias, much to Namor's great shock after discovering his true heritage on the fateful day of his royal coronation as the succeeding king of Aztlán. While it triggered him to find out how he was the son of an Astekah and a surface human who both suffered from the persecutions of humanity itself, Namor's spite towards the surface world had only solidified further, albeit still considering the alliances he once joined forces with just to keep his civilization safe and secure.
The Fantastic Four
Around the early 2000s, Namor's continuous extreme measures to protect his home has gotten him on the radar of both radical conspiracy theorists and covert military and scientific expeditions, which included his former enemies and emerging foes who shared an interest towards the advanced resources of the legendary Atlantis. It didn't last until the monarch of Aztlán would unexpectedly cross paths with a explanatory team of cosmic heroes and adventurers known as the Fantastic Four, who discovered a mysterious interdimensional portal within the core of Atlantis' main domain, on his way to return to Atlantis. This portal would be something that they would later fully discover to be an interdimensional gate that leads throughout several dangerous and plain deadly dimensions across the known multiverse, including the shortcuts to the rest of the Seven Seas, although the one Namor was fearing the most was the realm full of lost and terror that was the Negative Zone.
With Aztlán impulsively clashing the Fantastic Four instead of helping them solve the elephant in the room since they first believed that they were a threat like those who wished to exploit their technology, Namor later realized that he and his people were actually fighting against the wrong side, to which in response, he finally convinced his people into joining forces with the surface heroes' cause to prevent the upcoming, larger threat of the Annihilation Wave, as their supreme leader, Annihilus attempts to get his massive and ravenous forces through the interdimensional gate and spread their conquest to establish a new territory in the prime reality, starting with planet Earth.
As the bloodthirsty Annihilus unleashed his hungry forces to raid the Seven Seas, the combined forces of Atlantean warriors and the Fantastic Four counteracted their every deadly and brutal attack, which unfortunately had taken the lives of noble ocean-dwellers who risked their lives for the future of Aztlán. Eventually and thankfully, the chaotic battle for Atlantis has ended with heroic victory, forcing Annihilus and the remainder of his surviving minions to retreat, bidding the Fantastic Four some time to close the Atlantean interdimensional gate, an accomplishment that further enrages Annihilus, fearing that he may never find a way to fester the prime universe ever again.
Ever since that life-changing moment came to Namor's life, the slow but continuously growing foundation of his optimism and great trust to have a unified future with humanity and the surface world has now begun to be molded, all thanks to the introduction of the Fantastic Four. From time to time, Namor eventually became situational allies with the Fantastic Four, along with the rest of Earth's mightiest protectors, later on during the rise of heroes in the modern era, whenever they may be needing his help and vice-versa, as long as the kingdom of Aztlán would be out of trouble, kept in the safest of hands of his own native Atlantean people, the only people he still, and would (possibly) always truly trust.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
Mutant/Atlantean Physiology: Namor's powers come from his being a unique hybrid of Atlantean (Homo Mermanus) and mutant (Homo Superior) physiologies. Because of his unusual genetic heritage, Namor is unique among both ordinary humans and Atlanteans; he is sometimes referred to as the "world's first mutant," because, while the majority of his observed superhuman powers come from the fact that he's a hybrid of Human and Atlantean DNA, his ability to fly can't be explained by either side (Atlanteans are an off-shoot of "baseline" humanity). He has been stated to be an Alpha-Level Mutant.

Notes
- Aztlán is the native name of Namor's home and kingdom, while Atlantis is the English and mostly-agreed "international" name. It can be conveniently compared to España being the native and original name of the country, while the English language and other nations calls it Spain.
- While the "Atlanteans" were mostly populated by mutated outcasts from the Mayan, Aztec, and Incan civilization since they have first secretly established Aztlán thousands of years in the past, Astekah was the unified term used by natives to call members of the original "Noble" Tribe, the founders of the underwater Atlantis, where Namor belongs to.
