Spider Physiology: Mystic Spider possesses the proportionate powers of a spider, granted to him from an irradiated Common House Spider (Achaearanea tepidariorum). The radioactive, complex mutagenic enzymes in the spider's blood that were transferred at the time of the bite triggered numerous body-wide mutagenic changes within him, granting him superhuman strength, speed, toughened flesh, and numerous arachnid-like abilities. That mutation granted him an "enhanced chromosome pattern."
His powers include:
- Wall-Crawling: Mystic Spider's exposure to the mutated spider venom induced a mutagenic, cerebellum-wide alteration of his engrams resulting in the ability to mentally control the flux of interatomic attraction (electrostatic force) between molecular boundary layers. This overcomes the outer electron shell's normal behavior of mutual repulsion with other outer electron shells and permits the tremendous potential for electron attraction to prevail. The mentally controlled sub-atomic particle responsible for this has yet to be identified. This ability to affect the attraction between surfaces is so far limited to his body (especially concentrated in his hands and feet) and another object, with an upper limit of several tons per finger.
- Superhuman Strength: Mystic Spider possesses superhuman strength enabling him to press lift many tons. He was shown to easily swing a 3-ton wrecking ball using steel chains. His physical strength is sufficient enough to enable him to lift and throw objects as heavy as a big rig semi-truck with ease, and land a jet he estimated had a landing weight between 175,000-215,000 pounds. He must also pull his punches and kicks unless fighting someone of similar or greater physical durability. Otherwise, his blows would prove fatal to a normal human being. He has demonstrated that he is strong enough to knock out people with normal durability with as little as a tap to the head. His physical strength also extends into his legs, enabling him to be able to jump to a height of several stories in a single bound. Mystic Spider demonstrated this when he leaped over thirty feet vertically into the air when he first leaped out of the way of an oncoming car; it should also be noted that when he first discovered his powers as a teenager, they had not developed to that of his prime.
- Superhuman Speed: Mystic Spider is capable of running and moving at speeds that are far beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. He is fast enough to catch up to an accelerating car while on foot, but prefers to travel by webs. He moves faster than the eye can follow; he has even moved so fast he appears as a blur.
- Superhuman Stamina: Mystic Spider's advanced musculature produces fewer fatigue toxins during physical activity than an ordinary human. This allows him to exert himself physically for much longer periods of time before fatigue begins to impair him. At his peak, he can physically exert himself at his peak capacity for several hours before the build-up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him. Several accounts depict Black Spider as able to hold his breath for eight minutes or more.
- Superhuman Durability: Mystic Spider's body is physically tougher and more resistant to some types of injury than the body of a normal human. His body is more resistant to impact forces than anything else. He can withstand great impacts, such as falling from a height of several stories or being struck by an opponent with super strength. Events which would severely injure or kill a normal human, leave him with little to no discomfort. In the past, he has survived multiple blows from the likes of The Hulk, as well as surviving a point-blank missile explosion. His body is durable to the point where tensing his super-strong muscles while being punched in the torso by a trained heavyweight boxer caused the attacker's wrists to break. He has stated that he must roll with punches thrown by people without similar strength or durability, in order to avoid breaking their wrists.
- Superhuman Agility: Mystic Spider's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are all enhanced to levels that are far beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. He is extraordinarily limber and his tendons and connective tissues are twice as elastic as the average human being is despite their physical strength. He has the combined agility and acrobatic prowess of the most accomplished circus aerialists and acrobats. He can also perform any complicated sequence of gymnastic stunts such as flips, rolls, and springs. He can easily match or top any Olympic record at gymnastics apparatus such as flying rings, climbing ropes, horizontal bars, trampolines.
- Regenerative Healing Factor: Mystic Spider is able to rapidly heal and regenerate from harm rapidly faster and more extensively than normal humans are capable of and can rapidly heal and regenerate from harm that normal humans cannot heal from.
- Enhanced Immune System: Due to his accelerated metabolism, Mystic Spider has a higher tolerance for drugs and diseases than normal humans, and he can recover from the effects of larger doses rapidly. During an encounter with the Swarm, he was incapacitated by thousands of bee stings but recovered in less than 24 hours. His resistance and recovery time to other toxins and diseases varies, but is typically significantly higher than normal. Mystic Spider's unique physiology even allowed him to recover from the effects of vampirism as stated by Blade, his radioactive blood would kill the enzymes responsible for his transformation and revert him to normal.
- Superhuman Equilibrium: Mystic Spider possesses the ability to achieve a state of perfect equilibrium in any position imaginable. He seems able to adjust his position by instinct, which enables him to balance himself on virtually any object, no matter how small or narrow.
- Superhuman Reflexes: Mystic Spider's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are currently about forty times greater than those of an ordinary human. In combination with his spider-sense, the speed of his reflexes allows him to dodge almost any attack, or even gunfire, given sufficient distance. He has even been shown in some cases, to be able to dodge gunfire using just his reflexes without his spider-sense.
- Spider-Sense: Mystic Spider possesses a precognitive danger or "spider" sense which warns him of potential or immediate danger by the manifestation of a tingling sensation in the back of his skull, and links with his superhuman kinesthetics, enabling him to evade most any injuries unless he cognitively overrides his automatic reflexes. It appears to be a simultaneous clairvoyant response to a wide variety of phenomena (everything from falling safes to speeding bullets to thrown punches), which has given several hundredths of a second warning, which is sufficient time for his reflexes to allow him to avoid injury. The sense also can create a general response on the order of several minutes: he cannot discern the nature of the threat by the sensation. He can, however, discern the severity of the danger by the strength of his response to it. His spider-sense is directional and can guide him to or away from hidden weapons and enemies. Sudden and extreme threats can cause his spider-sense to react with painful intensity. He can also sense and dodge attacks directed randomly or by artificial intelligence. Using his spider-sense to time his enhanced reflexes, Mystic Spider can casually dodge attacks up to and including automatic-weapons fire, provided there is sufficient distance. His spider-sense is sufficiently well-linked to his reflexes to the point that a threat can trigger them even when he is asleep or stunned. His spider-sense has helped him preserve his secret identity since it alerts him to observers or cameras when changing into or out of his costume. He can choose to ignore his spider-sense, and distraction or fatigue diminishes its effectiveness. Mystic Spider's fighting style incorporates the advantage that his "spider-sense" provides him. His body begins to produce more adrenaline after the sense is triggered, an extension of the 'fight or flight syndrome.'
- Radio Frequency Detection: Mystic Spider's spider-sense also enables him to track certain radio frequencies, which he has used to his advantage via his Spider-Tracers.
- Magic:
- Telekinesis: Projection of psychokinetic energy enables him to levitate objects, propel or manipulate them however she wishes, lift himself and move through the air to simulate flight, stimulate individual molecules to create heat, generate concussive force as blasts or bursts, and create protective shields.
- Psychic Spider: He can manifest his telekinesis as a psychic spider, whose legs and fangs can inflict both physical and mental damage.
- Telekinetic Force Field: He can create a telekinetic field to shield him and his teammates.
- Tactile Telekinesis: He has the power to utilize a personal force field of telekinetic energy.
- Telekinetic Weapons: He can create psionic weapons and constructs out of psychic energy that damage a target either physically, mentally or both in some point.
- Spells and Phrases: He has a vast knowledge of mystical spells and incantations invoking names and aspects of various extra-dimensional objects, beings and sources of power. Although he has shown the ability to cast "spells" by only saying or focusing on what he wants to happen, this could be related to the nature of his powers.
- Mystic Bolts: He is able to generate powerful bolts of fiery energy.
- Teleportation: He can magically teleport himself, other persons, and objects across dimensional barriers.
- Shapeshifting:
- Scrying: He has shown an ability to use water or mirrors in order to see locations and beings from afar and to communicate.
- Precognition:
- Flight: He has been shown to levitate and fly.
- Telepathy: He is able to read minds and project his own thoughts into the minds of others within a radius of 250 miles (on Earth). With extreme effort he can greatly extend that radius. When synced with Cerebro or Cerebra, he can connect to every mind on a planet.
- Telepathic Illusions: He has the ability to create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring.
- Telepathic Cloak: He can mask his presence from being detected by others. His abilities could at times go undetected or be counteracted by other more powerful telepaths depending on their level of skill in using their own psi abilities. He can extend these defenses to others around him as well.
- Mind Link: He has the ability to develop a mental link with any person which remains as a connection to that individual.
- Telepathic Camouflage: He is capable of masking his and/or other peoples' presence from those around him. He can telepathically disguise himself, making his appearance to those around him quite different (changing the appearance of clothing, as well as more involved disguising).
- Mind Blast: He has the ability to place large amounts of information in another's mind.
- Mind Control: He possesses the power to control the minds of others upon mere concentration. This power could allow him to completely shut down several people's minds, making it appear as if time has stopped.
- Mind Possession: He can possess the mind of another, and use that being's body as his own.
- Mind Alteration: He has the ability to alter the minds of others by force of will.
- Mental Amnesia: He can cause loss of particular memories or total amnesia in another person or a group of people.
- Psychic Wave Manipulation: His mental talents are such that he can give his psionic power enough physical substance to effect the material world through his telepathy.
- Psionic Shield: He has the ability to erect a psychic shield for protection of himself and of other minds, so that he could prevent the free access to the conscious and subconscious mind of anyone.
- Psionic Blasts: He can project psionic force bolts which had no physical effects but can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness and could even kill an adversary.
- Mental Detection: He can sense the presence of another person within a small but as yet undefined radius of himself by perceiving the distinctive mental radiations emitted by such a being.
- Mind Transferal: He possesses the ability to transfer both his mind and powers into other host bodies if his own physical body was somehow killed.
- Absorb Information: He has the ability to quickly process and store information, by mental transference.
- Telepathic Learning: He is also able to telepathically teach information to other individuals. For example, he was also able to impart months of training into the minds of four young magicians, over the span of a few hours, to insure they were better able to use their powers and work together as a team.

- Hydrokinesis: He has control over all forms of water. He can control, create and manipulate water such as making an entire ocean into a puddle or creating tsunamis. He can use his control over water to create powerful water blasts at his opponents. He is the greatest swimmer on the Earth. He can move at superhuman speeds while in water. He can breathe under water indefinitely and can breathe oxygen as well.
- Chlorokinesis: He possesses the ability to manipulate and control the growth of plants and other vegetation bending them to his will.
- Electrokinesis: His ability to generate tremendous amounts of electrical energy and to project them from his hands in the form of lightning bolts or summon lightning and his ability to manipulate lightning was shown to greatly exceed that of Thor at times.
- Atmokinesis:
- Magical Awareness: He has shown the ability to be aware of almost anything that affects him and his surroundings.
- Aura Detection: He can detect other people's aura to determine if they are aligned with good, evil or none.
- Supernatural Tracking: He can track people and objects easily over any distance or conditions.

- Astral Projection: He possess the ability to project his spirit or astral body out of his physical body in order to travel into the spirit world or the astral plane.
