Michael Twoyoungman was born into a strong line going back several generations of Sarcee Mystics. Michael would often have disagreements with his grandfather due to their conflicting opinions on Michael's future.
Michael's grandfather believed he had great potential as a mystical Sorcerer whereas, Michael initially wanted to distance himself from his family's legacy and become a surgeon.
Life would change forever for Michael when he beloved wife grew increasingly ill and would tragically lose her life to the illness. Not only was Michael filled with self-doubt , but his daughter who was extremely hurt by the news blamed Michael for not being able to save her. Michael's daughter would soon be adopted by another family.
Michael would sit alone in his cabin in the woods contemplating everything that happened. Michael would suddenly receive an unexpected visitor who happened to be the spirit of his grandfather. His grandfather came to tell Michael he is officially passing the torch down to him and his mystical abilities. Michael would finally embrace his family's legacy as the ,Shaman.
Alpha Flight & Department H
Michael would be approached by James Hudson, who came on behalf of Department H to potentially recruit Michael and Michael would he completely understanding if Michael were to decline his offer.
After an hour of talking with one another, Michael would accept his offer and become one of the earliest members of Alpha Flight.
