History
Michael Morbius was born in a small European village in the 16th Century who had an interest in scientific experimentation as he got older. It was mistaken for witch-craft which led to him being driven out of his village. Eventually he was given shelter by the Bancroft family and fell in love with the daughter Martine. The two eventually got married, but she would come to suffer from a rare blood disease that Michael could not remedy in spite of his best efforts. This eventually led to him seeking out the man known as Count Dracula, who he heard could have the answer. Dracula offered him the ability to save his wife, if only he first did him a favor that he could use his scientific knowledge for. After the task was done Dracula bit Morbius, turning him into a vampire. And telling him that he could pass the vampirism on to his wife in order to save her from death, with the two of them being able to live on together forever. Michael did return and bit her, but when she realized what he had done and what the condition entailed she couldn't deal with it and cast herself into sunlight to kill herself. This broke Michael's heart, and thus he went on to survive by having to prey on innocent victims for their blood. But he'd go on to look for a grander purpose.
He would eventually go to New York City, where he'd start his own coven of vampires as no other vampire group had formed a power base there yet and opened up the Blood Rose Nightclub as a front to make money for the group and to find potential "recruits". Looking particular for people who felt like outsider, were looking for the ultimate thrill, and or had an interest in the occult. There he would eventually meet Felicia Hardy who was a regular guest at his club and came to fall for him. Longing to fill the void left by Martine, he eventually turned her.
