History

All my life, I've always been a man of God... Then I died, and that's when I became a servant of the Devil... But now... I'm simply the Spirit of Vengeance... The last one from my universe, hoping I'd return to my world...
Ghost Rider

Ultron Revolution

Before the years of Ultron Revolution, Daredevil seemed to have the same history with her Earth-61615 counterpart, until Ultron started an all-out war against humans and those who dares to oppose him and his ideologies. After a decade, however, Ultron was finally stopped after being infiltrated inside his Sanctuary by the combined efforts of every surviving hero and villain all over the world: the Ultron Resistance. Unfortunately, the brutal decade of Ultron Revolution left unspeakable casualties, taking the lives of several heroic individuals and civilians, including some of Daredevil's teammates within the Defenders and personally, Matt's closest friends Karen Page and Foggy Nelson along with his own mother Maggie, who unfortunately lost their lives in bloody path the of Ultron's forces in the revolution's early years.

Elektra was one of the few surviving heroes, villains, and anti-heroes among the Defenders to have lived through the deadly ordeal of the ten year reign of the megalomaniacal machine across the globe, which fortunately ended in Ultron's defeat and destruction. Despite his seemingly endless sate of misery, his fellow hero, former lover, and survivor Elektra stayed with her undying flame as she has always been fighting by his side for the past decade. Elektra helped Matt recovered from the psychological agony and doubts of his own faithfulness which he couldn't bare to endure alone, and the latter couldn't be more grateful for her love and support, reigniting the two's once distanced relationship in the aftermath of Ultron's devastating age of terror, eventually getting married and settled to live inside their new residence as a newlywed couple: the former main office of Nelson, Murdock, and Page in New York. The two hoped to soon retire from their heroics and spend the rest of their lives normally, together.

A Saint, Slaughtered

Marvelous Multi Murdock and Elektra

Matt and Elektra on their honeymoon

After the unexpected tragic incident during the bombings at Central Park, New York which the Murdock couple has sorrowfully witnessed on the news and television, many unfortunate incidents in the form of unfortunate deaths of several heroes and villains across New York and other neighboring states that were assassinated, both who were active and retired after the Ultron Revolution, which included Elektra and Matt. Those included the apparent assassinations of several heroes and villains, numerously fellow Defender Iron Fist and other members of Heroes for Hire, Cyclops and several other mutants, Magneto inside his kingdom in Genosha, the Avenger Hawkeye, and numerous more mutants and heroic individuals who previously fought with more valiance and less fear during the now historically-unforgettable Ultron Revolution.

On that fateful night, Elektra and Matt was attacked inside their residence by ninja-like figures, reminding Elektra of her grim and desolate past that was the organization Hand, an aspect that she thought was already gone for a long time. During the assault on the Murdock residence, the crime-fighting couple stuck together the incoming attackers, until Matt was struck in the heart with her own twin sais by one of the surviving and more efficient assailants, much to Elektra's great shock and distress. Elektra tried to chase down and prevent the assassins from escaping the apartment, but failed as they vanished the scene with little to no trace. Elektra comes back to comfort her fatally-wounded husband and tearfully begs him to stay with her until emergency comes, denying her feeling that it was too late for him to recover. Knowing his fate was sealed that very moment, a dying Matt simply caressed Elektra in her face and calmed her down, assuring her to retain her faith.

Matt succumbed to his wounds, dying in Elektra's arms, and the ambulance could only retrieve his lifeless body once it arrives at the scene. Elektra was almost framed as her own husband's murderer due to some recognizing her former signature weapon, but thankfully, thorough investigations by the authorities found that there were no traces of Elektra's DNA on the sai that impaled Murdock, and was someone else's. Still, despite this, Elektra was forever traumatized as she greatly mourns for the loss of her dear, beloved husband, the great vigilante once known to the world as Daredevil: The Man Without Fear, which words held true even to his death.

Worse than Death

In his death, the benevolent spirit of Matt found himself being ascended into the non-corporeal and afterlife realm of Heaven, even having visions of his lost loved ones as they welcome him, only for fate itself to irreversibly crook his linear and more peaceful journey when he was pulled by an disruptive force, revealing itself to be shockwaves created by the ensuing Battle of Armageddon, a secret war in the astral realm, between Heaven and Hell, which its result would decide the fate of the universe in a mystical level. Waking up in the city of Armageddon, Matt's spirit was caught in the warzone of Angels among other warriors of God, notably the Spirits of Vengeance, against the legions of Demons created by the Hell Lords in order to do their bidding without having to participate in the battle. Matt questioned the angels the whereabouts of Heaven, finding out that it was banished into safety, while the warriors kept fending off the legions for millennia as the Hell Lords try and reach heavenly realms.

There, Matt discovered the horrid realization that the afterlife was not so rewarding nor fulfilling as he had hoped. Nevertheless with his heroic and selfless heart in his life being sensed by a dying Ghost Rider, Matt's spirit became the new host of the former, turning Matt into a Ghost Rider, wherein he, without hesitation, began to fight in the name of God, alongside thousands of fellow compatriots, against the Hell Lords' assault. The skirmish on Armageddon would last for the next hundreds of years on the astral plane, until the Hell Lords themselves got tired of the repetitive battles in which the forces of Heaven always slain even their greatest of demons. Wishing to turn the tides in their favor, Mephisto and his fellow leaders went to Armageddon where they easily stumped the warriors of God, and knowing that he has connection the Spirits of Vengeance, he conveniently manipulated hundreds of Ghost Riders, including the great Johnny Blaze, into slaying their own brothers and sisters at arms.

Even as a Rider, Matt felt terrified, and the only thing that kept on standing strong and still was his utmost valiance, which drove him to keep on fighting until the very end, not realizing all hope was loss despite his efforts. Willing to do anything in order to protect both Earth, the Heavens, and other peaceful colonies from their mystic conquest, the dying Matt signed a demonic deal with the Hell Lords into becoming one of their own lieutenants at the exchange that they won't bother with earthly nor heavenly affairs, and neither will Matt as long as he works for them. Impressed by both his bravery and skills even in the face of hellish dread, Mephisto took all the fallen Riders' Spirit of Vengeance and imbued it with Matt's soul and spirit, becoming the last ever host of the Ghost Rider, becoming a one-man army to serve the Hell Lords as they continue conquering and annihilating the greatest of evils across the cosmos, proving that they're the only one deserving of such diabolical title.
