Mary Jane Watson attended High School with Peter Parker, the vigilante secretly known as Spider-Man. The two even briefly dated, although Peter went on to marry Gwen Stacy.
After the fall of civilized society to the Order of the World Tree, Mary Jane was one of thousands of civilians to accept sanctuary in Latveria. Once there, Mary Jane enlisted in the new S.H.I.E.L.D., and began training underneath the Black Widow using Red Room techniques.
