Marvel Knights Chronicles follows the universe of Earth-559423, revealing the untold details of Spider-Man: Knight of the Horizon, with the issues split between three arcs:
- Prologue: which is set before the events of the miniseries.

| Jessica Reilly and Alana Jobson (best friends who have had hidden romantic feelings for each other since their high school years) are on their way home after another college lesson until they witness Tony Stark / Iron Man fighting against A.I.M. agents led by Scientist Supreme Monica Rappaccini, who accidentally infuse the two young women with two Super-Soldier serum darts during the shootout. Next day, Jessica and Alana wake up discovering that they have been physically enhanced, and earned metahuman abilities; with Jessica earning spider-based powers and the ability to control male pheromones, and Alana assimilating Captain America’s Super-Soldier physiology and achieving immunity to psychic attacks. Initially terrified, they are soon inspired by Stark into using their newfound powers for heroic purposes, becoming the duo Spider-Woman and Jackpot. Their actions attract the attentions of Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel and Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk, who take them in under their wings. After helping defeat A.I.M. units’ out-of-control replica of a Kree Sentry, Jessica and Alana earn praised from their mentors and all citizens for their performance. Having a moment alone, the pair profess their love for each other, and share their first kiss, becoming a couple. A few months later, Jessica and Alana move to a new mansion they recently inherited from a deceased single mother, while vowing to raise her orphaned daughter Tanya together, and deciding that they will come out to their friends and families after graduation. | ||||
