Early Years

The daughter of American scientist Octavia Argo and Greek super soldier Sophia Morbius, Marina Argo was born in the Utopian Parallel (a dimension inhabited entirely by women) from a birth matrix which adapted to her mothers' DNA. She lived most of her life with an affinity for water and aquatic animals, with her hobbies including swimming in the ocean with sea animals like sea turtles. One night, however, Marina's mothers and aunt Olivia were caught up and killed in a horrific storm which ravaged their sea lab, leaving her an orphan. She was then raised by her widowed uncle John Walker and cousin Kevin, with whom she bonded dearly.

Growing up, Marina also developed a huge crush on other girls (one of them being Liz Allan), coming out to John and Kevin as a lesbian individual, to their genuine support. Also, like most young citizens, Marina grew up being a fan of superheroes; mostly the Atlantean king Namor.

    • Flight: Nanotech in her suit also allows Wave to manifest small wings on her ankles (similar to Namor's), enabling her to fly long distances.
  • Atlantean Trident: a gift from Namor to Marina. A trident made of Vibranium and Adamantium with which she can also focus or amplify her water powers. It can also fire concussive energy beams, call upon lightning, and manipulate ice.
