History

Quote1 These people are fragile and breakable. This world would be in flames if not for us! Try and protect them all you want, but at least acknowledge you are superior to them! Quote2
Mar-Vell

Mar-Vell was born into the Halamite Empire, the widest reaching, most powerful galactic empire the world had ever seen. Mar-Vell's father, Doc-Vell, was one of the Halamites' commanding officers, and once he was of age, Mar-Vell enlisted into the war effort. While the Halamites' main source of disobedience came from the Nova Corps, they also found enemies in the united system of planets called the Confederation.

After years of bloodshed, scientists in the Confederation concocted the Suprema Virus, which diminished the Halamite population severely. With only dozens of purebloods left alive, they grew desperate. Having lost his father to the Virus, Mar-Vell started to become disillusioned. Eventually, he was stationed on the planet Earth in order to establish himself as the supreme power so that the planet may join their Empire.

However, after arriving, it became clear to Mar-Vell that conquering Earth would be no easy feat, as it was defended by a plethora of superheroes, such as the Avengers and the Fantastic Four, as well as the organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Mar-Vell decided his best course of action was to infiltrate these heroes, and adopted the guise of Captain Marvel.

He quickly established himself as a hero, and even grew to form some friendships with his comrades. It wasn't long until he saved a human woman named Carol Danvers from a plane crash, and the two were soon married. Mar-Vell adopted the alias of Phillip Danvers to pose as her husband in human society, and used this to enact the next step of his plan.

Carol eventually gave birth to their daughter, Grace, who wouldn't develop powers until she turned 16. Once it became clear to Mar-Vell that it was time to return to his duties as a Halamite, he lured the Avengers, who at that point consisted of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Wasp, Black Panther, Quicksilver, and Vision, into a trap in their own home base of Avengers Mountain.

Once Captain Marvel came face to face with the people he once considered friends, the battle began. The Avengers put up a valiant fight, but quickly proved to be no match for Mar-Vell's natural Halamite abilities. One by one, the Avengers met their deaths until Mar-Vell collapsed, falling into a coma for roughly a week.

Later waking up in a S.H.I.E.L.D. hospital, he discovered that Grace had adopted the alias of Marvelous, and had begun acting as a superhero. He knew he had a lot of work ahead of him in trying to convince her to side with the Halamites over the human race, but he took solace in knowing at least the first line of Earth's defenses had been torn down.
