History[]
Early Years[]
When he was a boy Max Eisenhardt (born July, 1932) and his entire family were forced to live in the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, along with numerous other Jews, by the Nazi's during World War II. On the day he arrived at the camp and was being separated from his parents Max's Mutant powers manifested for the first time as he bent and broke apart a metal gate apart, which his parents were located on the other side of, before being knocked out. This incident earned him the attention of Dr. Klaus Schmidt, who was in actuality a Mutant like Max whose real name was Sebastian Shaw. A man who at first acted kindly toward Max, but then one day he brought his mother before him and informed Max if he did not display his powers he would kill her. A promise he made good on when the young Eisenhardt failed to display his Mutant abilities. But after Shaw killed his mother his powers awakened once more and he tore the laboratory they were in apart, injuring several of the guards in the process. After this incident took place Shaw, along with assistance and advice behind the scenes from another doctor, performed heinous experiments on Max and tortured him in various ways all in the name of studying his powers. These events were so profound they would come to shape the rest of Max's entire life.
Division X[]
Now an adult, with better understanding of his own powers, Max Eisenhardt, who now goes by the name Erik Magnus Lehnsher, has become a Nazi Hunter. Traveling around the world he exacts his own personal brand of revenge against those who committed the atrocities against his people, his family, and himself. He is also searching for Sebastian Shaw. Eventually he finds the man, only for Max to find himself completely and utterly outmatched against Shaw and his new Mutant allies, who call themselves the Hellfire Club. Though in his defeat Max encounters a man that will become his greatest friend, and his fiercest rival, his fellow Mutant and telepath Charles Xavier. After meeting with Charles he ends up joining a secret department within the CIA known as Division X. Whose primary objective has come to stop Shaw and his Hellfire Club. To that end Max assists Charles in putting together a team of Mutants to achieve this goal. The members of this team consisting of Charles adoptive sister Raven, the young genius Hank McCoy, and fellow Mutants Thunderbird, Banshee, and Feral. Working together with this team Max was not only able to defeat the Hellfire Club but avenge his mother and himself by finally killing Shaw.
Divergent Paths[]
After finally defeating Shaw Max found some peace. But it was not enough for him. He still wanted to make people pay. But more than that he had come to see his fellow Mutants as his second people, and knowing the atrocities humanity was capable of he decided to become the Mutant races new protector. Even finding himself agreeing with elements of Shaw and the Hellfire Clubs ideology. To that end Max attempted to finish their plan, even despite the pleas of Charles for him not to. For Eisenhardt had resolved himself to carry things forward. Only stopping when the teams CIA liaison officer agent Moira MacTaggart attempted to shoot him and Max deflected the bullet, right into Charles and straight into his spinal cord. Inadvertently causing his friend to lose the use of his legs and turning him into a paraplegic. Disgusted and enraged at this development Max attempted to kill Moira for her part in injuring Charles. Only for Charles to plead with him not to end her life. Deciding to honor his friends request, given what he had just done to him, Max released Moira. Then immediately afterwards made a plea to his fellow Mutants to join him in his new mission. Making the world a safe place for their kind, through any means necessary. Being joined by several Mutants still present after the battle Max then took his leave. Taking his first big step on the different path he had chosen from Charles. After this event took place, and knowing that Charles would try to stop him, Max took to wearing Shaw's psionic proof helmet. He also adopted another new name. Which was Magneto.
Re-ignited Flames of Fury[]
Once he went about calling himself Magneto, and establishing his own Mutant organization, which he named the Brotherhood Max began his campaign to make the world a safe place for Mutants. Only to find his group whittled down until just he, Raven, and the former Hellfire Club member who joined him, Azazel remained. Face with this reality Max fell into a deep depression. Disbanding the Brotherhood he became a wanderer. Simply going through the motions of life. Until he met a woman who gave light back to his dark world. A Sokovian woman by the name of Madga Maximoff. Who despite being human showed no fear of Max's powers. Finding this comforting Max soon found himself falling in love with Magda, and the feeling was reciprocated. Thus the two soon became married and settled down. Where shorty after they conceived a child, a young girl who they named Anya.
However a few years after her birth the couple learned just like her father Anya was a mutant, and eventually the locals of the area they were living did as well. Leading them to form a mob and kill the young girl. Faced with the death of his daughter Max's fury became re-ignited and thus he used his powers to slaughter the local villagers. Madga running away from him in fear afterwards. Who even though Max looked for he could never find. Thus after giving up the search for his wife he went back to his mutant extremist ways. Having no idea at the time Anya has been pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl, until many years after their birth.
Establishing A Nation[]
After returning to his terrorist ways Max traveled around the world, protecting mutants and gathering new followers, while inadvertently fathering another child in the process, looking for a place mutants could call their own. Which he found, in the form of a small uninhabited island off the eastern coast of Africa in the fall of 1990. Which Max claimed for all mutant kind. Naming the island Genosha.
