History

After experimentation by Roxxon Scientists, Luke Cage became indestructible, and soon became a vigilante, wishing to protect people from suffering the same fate he did. He would eventually come to work alongside Iron Fist, and the two became best friends. Iron Fist was even the Best Man at Cage's wedding to Private Investigator, Jessica Jones. Cage and Jones attempted to retire together to take care of their daughter, Danielle. However, one day Luke would return home to find them both slaughtered, with a calling card from the Taskmaster, who had been hired to lure Luke Cage out of retirement by the Kingpin. Luke would then go on a rampage, tearing through the Kingpin's forces, and killing as many criminals as possible to wage a one man war against Wilson Fisk.

Cage was recruited into the Renegades by The Outsider, under the promise that if he returned to his home reality, he would be captured by the Kingpin and experimented on until he lost his powers, and is then tortured extensively until his death. Cage was reluctant, as he didn't trust the Outsider, but he was given the Tallus and command over the Renegades.

After serving on countless missions, losing and gaining several new teammates, Luke eventually completed his mission and was sent home by the Outsider, feeling no less empty than before.
