Though his origins are largely unknown, what is is that at a very young age Killspree was diagnosed with a high-functioning autism (HFA) and displayed a lack of emotional expression and can appear cold and aloof. His father a Canadian army PSYOP officer was afraid that others will exploit his son, began a brutal regimen of stoicism and martial arts training. His father took him around the world to be taught by various teachers, one of which were those of the Cyber-Ninjas clan.
What the Beast Wants
Through his fathers connections he was able to get in touch with a small group of the clan located in Tokyo, and left Killpsree with the clan visiting him sparsely over the next few years.
Around his 12th to 13th birthday Killspree's mutant powers became active and as such he caught the attention of The Hand. Using a slight the clan had accidentally committed against the Hand killed the small group and took him, over the past decade and half he became one of the Hands most deadliest assassins. During his time he had come into conflict with Chaste, Elektra, Silver Samurai, The Cyburai, The Believers and Black Tarantula among others.
But as time went on Killspree felt the Hand had become nothing more then fodder for those like Wilson Fisk, Hydra, Clan Yashida and had forgotten their original goal under Matsu'o Tsurayaba commend. So in the cover of darkness he set the place on fire and left a body to appear as his, then secretly left the Hand and made his way back to Canada. There he reunited with his father who had come to believe his son was along dead.
Learning his father had come to work for the C.S.I.S. and Department H he, under the code name Killjoy began doing any number of blacklist, covert missions and assassinations for them.
A few short years later his father died and he under the new code name Killspree was sent to St. John’s Newfoundland, to join Department K and their Weapon Prime team under General Clarke's authority.
Lead by Tigerstryke (Mitchell) the team was sent to stop intruder who have broken into Department K's bunker. Killspree and the team confronted the intruder who turned out to be Domino. Even though they managed to drive off her and her team outside, they were unaware she had stolen the departments files.
To Kill A King
Through a unknown third party, Department H had Killspree using the Killjoy code-name once again pretend to be a mercenary. A mercenary who believed in the same things the Canaanians did, and in doing so hair himself out to the king of Canaan Moses Magnum. After a bit of time and the right motivation King Magnum sent him to kill the king of Wakanda T'Challa.
Killspree managed to kill a number of guards and badly injured T'Challa before being caught by surprise when Deathlok appeared. Due to Killspree being force to keep up this Canaan mercenary persona, and even though he still put up a fight taking Deathlok's arm T'Challa escaped. With the mission a failure Killspree allowed himself to be captured. Well in custody Department H had him secretly freed, but only as long as Department K and Weapon Prime continued to be an asset.
When Alpha Flight was shutdown Weapon P.R.I.M.E was set to become Canada's new superhero team. So to show their stuff General Clarke sent Killspree and the team to track down, capture Northstar (Jean-Paul Beaubier) for not staying out of trouble like the rest of his former Alpha Flight team.
They tracked him from Spain to Russia and even got attacked by local performers trying to arrest them. Though Northstar escaped again Killspree and the team would track him down to New Orleans, but for some unknown reason Tigerstryke would call off the mission.
Due to Department K and Weapon Prime's past failures, before and after Kilspree joining the team they were disbanded.
Deeds of the Past
With Double Trouble (Tegan & Janice Johnson) heading home to Lethbridge Alberta, Yeti (Wendigo) having been taken an unknown facility up north and Tigerstryke disappearing Killspree decided to lay low in the Yukon's Water Lake.
Some time later the authorities of Wakanda not only learned that their king T'Challa's would be assassin had escaped but was hiding out in Canada. They sent a number of their agents to arrest him, proving either to elusive or out right hospitalizing or killing them, they when to the Canadian government for help. Department H under Director X's orders had the recently reformed Alpha Flight go and bring Killspree in to the Wakanda authorities.
But despite their best efforts Alpha Flight could not find him, so they turned to an old friend the Shaman (Michael Twoyoungmen) and through his magic they were able to locate Killspree. Killspree was about to leave Canada when Alpha Flight arrived and though the Shaman was able to captured him, Killspree badly injured six and nearly killed two of the eight team members. While in custody General Clarke came to him, telling Killspree that he can again sneak him away and he could do wet work for them again. Killspree believing Clarke had sold him out spoke his last words, he said that coming back to Canada and working for Department H made him soft.
Imprisoned & Revelation
Killspree was sent to the Vault an immense maximum security facility designed to hold superhuman criminals and a specialized wing for extraterrestrial prisoners. He would spend a number of years locked away never speaking or trying to escape, even with the endless series of riots and escapes over the years. When the Vault was finally closed he was sent to a private facility for a time before ending up at The Raft, a super maximum security prison for super-powered criminals located near Ryker's Island, NY. It is run and operated by S.H.I.E.L.D.
During M-Day Killspree was one of the few mutants to retain his powers.
When the Civil War broke out Mys-Tech now run by the original board members 3 children and a fourth unknown setup a prison deep in the Sahara Desert, in hopes to legitimately replace prisons like The Raft. Due to over crowding Killspree was sent to this prison with many others like Daisy, Slag, Wrathchilde (Philip Roth), Barb and Sunny to name a few. But unfortunately when the Civil War ended the bill to keep this new prison was denied, and its prisoners made forgotten by Mys-Tech.
As time went on Mys-Tech turn the prison into a place where if someone needed people for whatever reason to disappear were sent here, as long as whoever needed this done had something Mys-Tech wanted. The guards were their Psycho-Warriors and the warden Dr. Oonagh Mullarkey, though she was hardly there when she was she ran horrific experiments on some of the prisoners, namely Wrathchilde, Sunny and Barb.
When some new prisoners were brought in Killspree found himself being attacked by fellow inmates. After the sixth attempt on his live Killspree finally got a of them to spill as to why they were trying to kill him, he learn that one of the new inmates named Romulus once discovered Killspree was there wanted him dead. Wanting answers he fought his way to Romulus to which they had a hellacious battle. Before the Psycho-Warriors could break it up Killspree learned Romulus was the third party that wanted King T'Challa dead, to gain uninterrupted accuses to Wakanda's Vibranium. But because Killspree failed his plans were delayed even to this day, so Romulus saw to it that once Killspree was no longer protected by Department H or K he would spend his life rutting in prison. When Romulus saw that not only were they in the same prison but Killspree was unfazed by his situation wanted him dead.
Killspree and Romulus were locked away and kept from interacting with anyone but the Psycho-Warrior guards.
When Daken was brought in as a new inmate all hell would breakout later that night. As night fell Cyber who had set Daken up to be sent to this prison had tracked him there, along with Omega Red and 3 out of the 4 of his children from Omega Clan attacked.
As inmates and guards fought Cyber would go after Romulus and seemingly kill him, while Red and his children went off to carry out their own agenda. Suddenly the U.S. Agent who was sent to find and shutdown the prison would appear along with X-23 (who was there for her brother) and Weapon Prime. But while U.S. Agent, Daken and X-23 fought to gain control of the prison Weapon Prime found Killspree and escape leaving the others behind to deal with the ensuing chaos.
Reunited back at their headquarters Tigerstryke, Double Trouble and 2 new members Killspree would learn that when General Clarke died he had set upon his death for Weapon Prime to be reactivated and take over as Canada's preeminent superhero team. The agent tasked with finding Mitchell to bring him their new suits and objective, took her years because he was so far of the grid deep in the Yukon. Tigerstryke was able to find Double Trouble easy enough but sadly he found out that during the Civil War the Wendigo (thanks to regular feeding) had gotten to powerful and transformed fully, so the then Omega Flight lead by the U.S. Agent had to destroy him. With 2 new recruits and a happen chance of coming across Cyber, Daken and the U.S. Agent they were able finally find this prison Killspree was in and used the U.S. Agent to get him out.
Together again Killspree and the others reformed Weapon Prime as Clarke wished but that was as far as honoring him would go. For if Canada wanted their services they'll have to pay for it, as would anyone who wants Weapon Prime and got the cash.
