Early Years[]
Katherine Anne "Kate/Kitty" Pryde (born October, 1985) was the daughter and only child of Jewish couple Carmen and Theresa Pryde. Who from an early age displayed an extremely gifted intellect. Especially in regards to the field of computer science, such as hacking and programming, and other fields related to it like electrical systems and engineering. All of which the young Katherine found highly interesting. Which is why she studied everything related to computer and technology she could get her hands on. But she also didn't neglect her other studies, which her parents made sure of, especially since they were sending her to the best schools they could afford the help her reach her full potential. Which the young Katherine was doing. There was even talks between her parents and teachers about enrolling her in college courses. But before this could take place shortly after her thirteenth birthday she began suffering from intense headaches. Which were caused by her mutant powers manifesting themselves. Though at the time neither she, her parents, nor anyone around them knew that. Until one night she phased through her bed and found herself in her families living room. She then started phasing randomly all the time. Seeing this her father contacted contacted his old commanding officer and friends from his army days John Proudstar, who he discovered was a Mutant but didn't care.
Answering the call John arrived and confirmed what Carmen had suspected, his daughter was indeed in a Mutant. Once this happened John offered Kitty a place as the newly re-opened school run by his other old friend Charles Xavier, where he was now a teacher. An offer which both she and her parents accepted. Thus Katherine packed up and found herself as part of the first new class of Mutants to attend the school in years, which included Scott Summers, Warren Worthington III, Kurt Wagner, and Jean Grey. All of whom would become Kitty's close friends as well as her fellow founding members of the mutant superhero team known as the X-Men.
