Early Years[]
John Proudstar (born April, 1945, died 2013) was the only child of Apache Tribe couple Neal Proudstar and his wife, Lorzen Proudstar. During his early years John learned many practical skills from his parents, and the others in his tribe, such as how to hunt and survive off nothing but the land. All things he excelled at. Though none of that helped him when he was forced to start attending school off the reservation, where many of his classmates bullied him simply due to his heritage. Which only got worse as John displayed above average intelligence and generally placed in the top of his class in academics, as well as sports due to his interest in them and his naturally large physique. However despite all the racism he endured John held strong, namely in large part due to his tribe. Who he always turned too when things got to be too tough off the reservation. A place he wanted to explore even more, despite knowing what challenges awaited him. However one night shortly after his fifteenth birthday when John relayed his plans to explore the world in the future too his parents they immediately began opposing him. Leading to a huge fight, and John storming out of his house alone and into the night. Where he soon found himself cornered by several of his classmate. All of whom were drunk, and the ones who bullied John the most in school. Who had come after him that night to attack him because of their own unresolved frustrations. Faced with this John defended himself, but quickly found himself overwhelmed due to the numbers against him. This led to John taking a severe beating, the stress of which triggered his Mutant powers to awaken, allowing him to beat back his attackers and return home. After which he immediately reconciled with his parents. Who after hearing what John had just experienced, and the abilities he displayed decided he need to leave the area immediately. To with that John moved to enlist in the United States Marine Corps the following day, lying about his age to get in. After which he began active service, all while trying to understand, and keep hidden his new powers.
