Jemma Simmons (Earth-101)

Jemma Simmons was recruited to join the S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy due to her outstanding intelligence. While there, she met and befriended a young man named Leo Fitz, with whom she quickly gained a reputation as some of the smartest people S.H.I.E.L.D. had ever seen.

Becoming known collectively as "Fitz-Simmons", they were eventually selected by Phil Coulson to join his team, where they worked alongside and befriended several other S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents. It was also with this time that Jemma and Leo came to realize they were in love.

Getting married after almost dying several times on the job, they hyphenated their names to literally become Fitz-Simmons. When Jemma became pregnant, Fitz tried to convince her that they needed to retire from S.H.I.E.L.D., but she refused, stating that their job was too important, and that is something their child would understand.

Simmons created the undercover alias of "Lyla Whitman" for whenever she is supposed to keep her identity a secret, and always has to plan out her backstory ahead of time, as she is terrible at lying in the moment. She also created an alias for Fitz, named Kip Lyman.
When she got married, her best friend, Quake, was her Maid of Honor.
