History

Quote1 We're going to die, aren't we, Scott? Oddly enough, I've never had fewer cares. I love you, Scott. Quote2
Marvel Girl

Jean Grey was born to the English professor John Grey, and his wife Elaine. She was born a mutant, with the latent powers of telepathy and telekinesis. Her twin sister, Madelyne, had similar powers. When they turned 10, Madelyne had mastered her powers, and attacked Jean, making her think that she had killed Madelyne. This in turn caused her new telepathic powers to go berserk. Professor Charles Xavier was able to locate the frightened girl. He blocked her telepathic powers, and helped her master her telekinetic powers. After about 5 years of private training, Charles left.

Soon afterwards, Charles returned, this time with another offer. He told her he was formulating a team of mutants, and that he wanted her to join. She accepted, and took the codename Marvel Girl. As his other recruits joined, Jean felt right at home. But when the X-Men fought the Brotherhood, and Cyclops' fatal shot was made, Jean's telepathic powers broke the blocks, and she realized his error. Realizing there was nothing anyone could do, she told Scott how much she secretly admired him, and they died happy.
